#23 - the Bible and personal understandings of God
I do not believe that a person can learn even the smallest thing about the Lord that goes against what we already see given us in the Bible.
If anyone makes a claim to have had some type of personal revelation about the Lord, and this revelation turns out to go against some teachings found in the Bible, then that person is in error.
Their revelation is a lie, or fake.
Just because it goes against your interpretation of the Bible doesn't mean it goes against their interpretation.
Quote:
I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. (Isa 45:3)
But what i know is this:
Jesus said nothing in secret.
There are no hidden teachings that some Christians have and others dont.
The Good News is once for all given to the saints.
There is nothing else coming down the pipe from above.
Therefore if some teacher stands up and tells you that there has just been learned a secret?...or if there is some type of church out there that claims to have secrets?...it's a lie.

Jesus is not found in the "secret rooms"
There is much evidence that God does not give to all equally - there are riches in hidden places. Jesus passed by multitudes of people without healing them, though He could have, etc.
There is much evidence that God does not give to all equally - .
yes, and thank God for that too.
For to the person that much is given, much is expected.
We who have the bible sitting on the desk beside us are lucky....we are blessed.
The ability to just reach over and find the simple answer in black and white is a gift we have been given.
But with this type of great gift comes the duty to use this gift in the best ways.
We are the light of the world.
What a shame if our light grows dim, or is covered over with traditions and anger.
Amen, but I believe God is above all things faithful to bring about the peaceable fruits of righteousness.
Sounds good.
Im not sure what it all means, but it sounds good...and I agree with it.
