Yes , I have many "pitfalls" because I am flesh and blood..But by the grace of God He forgives me and allows me to understand, sympathize and still find love in myself for less fortunate ones who are still struggling to find Him...through man's religion.

FYI, I am trying to find a group of the church to meet with, but so far He has not put me anywhere...Perhaps I am more blind than I am deaf

Nope, Fundy, I do not consider my vision or hearing problems a pitfall at all..
Hey it is a blessing sometimes not to see the dust on the mantle or to hear all the arguing among the grandkids when they are here

I think this is a wonderful thread. It has both great potential for understanding, and great potential to increase division within Christ's Body.

Christ's Church, no matter how we define it, is IMHO wounded and imperfect. And all "religions" share imperfections.

As a Roman Catholic, I could respond until my fingers bleed, about my Church's imperfections. But I'll refrain.
I will say however, the heiarchal and sacramental nature of it can be difficult for many to swallow when put before ( or above ) a relationship with Christ.
