GldnRule,I understand what you're saying, but in the meantime we still have to go by the way it presently is. We can sit here and talk about what should be and what shouldn't be to amend it, but until such time something is done, all were doing is talking..

Good point ptsum...and, as usual, you demonstrate your wisdom.

With that in consideration...we must go by the laws and regulations that are in place. And handle the issue through the system we now have.

Nope...no "games".

I make a suggestion that we should allow full popular votes instead of just polling less than 1000 Reps and Senators...and I get:

References to the citizens of this country as "lunatics"...and the country itself as an "asylum".
And then the assessment that large groups would banish smaller groups from the country and/or take away their rights. Or that some group would "breed themselves into the majority" and then "control everything".

Ya know...when I suggested a full popular vote...I never even considered that stuff ...my mind doesn't work like that.
And I submit: The only kind of person that thinks the other citizens are "lunatics"...would view the country as an "asylum"...or think the people would become tyrannical dictators---is someone who has that mindset themselves.
That is the only reason I can see for anyone to think the majority of the people of this country are evil lunatics.

After all...even with our present system...a large enough majority could vote in all their own and "take over".
For example...the country is over 80% Theist...RIGHT NOW they *could* vote in enough people to change the Constitution and the laws to run the country as a Theocracy...but they don't.
According to many on this board "religion is the most evil thing that exists". So if the "most evil" don't do it...why would anyone else?

Again, IMO...only someone who thinks like that themselves...would believe most others do as well...and predict those terrible things would happen if we adopted a system of putting everything to a full popular vote. Thus my speculation of a "frame of self-reference".

Trolling is putting out bait hoping for a bite.
I'm not that hungry.
What part of 'inappropriate discussion for this forum' don't you understand?

Default The Cross Demonstrates The power of God To Save Us

The cross is the ultimate demonstration of God’s power. After all, we could never have accomplished our salvation on our own. But the cross can be confusing to many people around us who still want to live apart from God. For some of our friends, the idea of a God who would die on a cross for us is simply crazy. It makes no sense from a worldly perspective! But that shouldn’t surprise us. Scripture tells us that a God who loves us like that will blow our minds. That kind of love seems unreasonable, and foolish to those who really want to save themselves.

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel-not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:17-19) To save even you......................FINAL ANSWER!

I made what I felt was a reasonable/appropriate suggestion of putting the thread issue to a vote...a popular vote. After all...it is a legal, as well as a theological issue.
A respectful question by ptsum was posed to me...I responded, with my views and suggestions.

I then got flamed by others for my OPINION...replete with horrible insults of, not only my suggestion, but the citizens of the country in general.
I've been DEFENDING against the OFFENSIVE since.

AGAIN...you lie. I've never defended either...just the opposite. Though I do note what the REALITY of the world actually is...but then, in your ignorance, you equate my noting that reality to some kind of personal endorsement of it.

And let me hip you somethin'...those things may not be YOUR "cup of tea" (and FYI, not mine either)...but that is NOT representative of the REALITY of the world.

Pornography is a ONE HUNDRED BIIIIIIIILLION dollar a year business. Do the math...and dig on what that means as to how many people do, IN FACT, want it and enjoy it. Kinda like beer...only, without the illness and death derivative beer has to it.

Religion...weeeeeeeell...that covers 9 out of 10 of the people THAT HAVE EVER EXISTED. And 8to9 out of 10 that exist right now. The REAL DEAL: There has not been ANY elective thing (not necessary for survival) more people have been into, in the entire history of humankind.

Your view is only "right" to you...and relatively veeeeeeery few others. And though there is nothing "wrong" with holding a rare and differing viewpoint...it IS wrong to get on the case of others because they hold the common mainstream view. Sorry...but that is the TRUTH...and that is REALTY. You need to get hip to that.

Oh, and get over your obvious hang-up about ME, and what *I* think and what *I* do...and what you think, about what you assume *I* think and what *I* do.

Big whoop, and since money seems to excite you so, illegal drug trade is measured in TRIIIIIIIIIILLIONS which using your metric of validity would mean that drugs are even better, as drug traffic is 10's of time larger than porn, so it's gotta be better............ right?

Oh, and if your are in the business, you are not only defending it, you are promoting it. Of course god and religion see women as second class citizens also, so it might get you a 'knowing wink' from the big guy.
