Going to church explains nothing about anyone pipsky , it's the reality of God in our lives through Christ dwelling us that has any real substance, and going to church does not bring that about.
From what you say in your posts it tells us that you can be an avid church goer and yet be cruel to animals .
What's the weather like in blighty ?

They may feel that as man has dominion over the animals that means they can do to animals whatever they feel like doing to animals. Or come to a similar belief based on the idea animals lack rational souls and cannot, at least on their own, go to Heaven.

Or they're just jerks. For some people churchgoing makes them better people, but for some it doesn't.

As for religions as a means of control there's a kind of truth to that in a way or at times, but I think there's merit in something that encourages a level of self-control. Your country, Britain, has many problems with young drunken people lacking control. In my country, US, anyway religious programs have a relatively good success rate when it comes to getting people off alcohol or tobacco.

Still I do appreciate that the European religious history is different than our own. The Tudors, Stuarts, and Cromwell certainly had much religious in-fighting or persecutions. Still this isn't the only perspective to look at religion. The US, as a nation, did not have anything quite like that. I don't think you see that in the history of Australia, Canada, or New Zealand either. Even our zaniest religious types, say Fred Phelps, have not killed anyone or been in a position of power. Our leaders have not been anti-clericals bent on killing priests or Clerics bent on killing heretics. At least not since Colonial New England, which predates the US.

Humm, I see a problem you see people who attend church ( demons attend church) but you never say I see or know these people who are followers of Christ who are living there life acceptable to God.

Just because a person attends church does not mean that they are living the way that God wants them to live.

I can call myself Christian and attend a church and still beat a dog, steal a car, murder a man. But If I truely want to live my life for Christ then I will listen to the Holy Spirit and not do these things.

There is a difference, and people use ignorance when looking at the two.

I think it is funny when I hear someone tell me they are Christian, but their life says other wise. I see so called Christians sleeping around and doing things that God tells us to not do, with other things that displease the Lord.

But Miss Shawn, anyone who embraces the authority of Christ is a Christian.

The only ones free of sin are Christ Himself and Mary

I can call myself Christian and embrace satan. So, you see I am not saying that Christians live a perfect life, but you should be able to tell the difference between a Christian who is living their life to please the Lord, and the difference in someone living and looking like the world, while still calling themselve Christians without living by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

There is a difference between someone who listens to the Holy Spirit's guidance and someone who does not. You will tell a difference.

I heard this once, and it is so true....

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, anymore than going to the garage makes you a car.

R U Serious? For what purpose do you do this?
