Jesus said that about the OT which was in circulation as well as the NT which was about to be in circulation and which incorporates his actual words , teachings, and life lived . The entire Bible we have today is inspiration of God and it is IT that is useful for teaching, correction, and training up a man . See John 17:17 and 2 Tim. 3:16 . Nowhere does the Bible say we should get our truth from made up church traditions and papal inventions occuring hundreds of years after the canonization of inspired scripture . We are to judge all teachings in accordance to what Gods Word has to say so we are not pursuaded to follow untruths and apostate teachings whether they be from Televangelists or old men who wear impressive looking fine silk robes with jeweled hats and who demand you bow to kiss their ring.

The Washington Post is reporting that the Catholics are now revising the Words of Jesus during The Lord's Supper. Instead of "He took the cup", it is now to be stated as "He took this precious chalice in His Holy and venerable hands".

The definition of venerable in the RCC is "A title given to a deceased person who has attained a certain degree of sanctity but has not been fully beatified or canonized".

OF course . . . that is how we know who He is, what He would do, and how we would know that He is the one. His fulfillment of the OT prophesies is how we know His status. That's it. The "USEFUL for instruction" part refers to the ability to use our knowledge of Good and Evil to discern what is righteous among the examples provided (like any instruction book) and to give us hope. The idea that it is some static, inerrant, indelibly written set of rules that must be followed to the letter is ridiculous. Trying to live under 2000 - 4000 + year old primitive cultural rules and norms is absurd.

Your hatred of the scriptures blindes you from where Jesus pointed to where salvation is found. They are one in the same,
btw....The OT was the Bible.
You know I do not hate the scriptures and I am getting tired of your accusations. Salvation was achieved BY Jesus . . . not the Bible . . . and we are to look to and follow Christ's commands to "love God and each other" to fulfill our responsibilities . . . not the Bible, period.

Limiting our knowledge to that of 2000 - 4000+ years ago is foolish and ignorant. We are to be wise and show ourselves to be well studied if we would presume to interpret scripture intelligently. As to the Catholic hierarchy . . . it is and has been an abomination against humanity in direct contradiction of Christ's admonishments against anyone being "first."

...Gotcha! See, see! When it will end.

Maybe we should take it as a compliment.

John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

You are actively promoting people to look else where than "these are written" John 20:31. The very thing that God want people to use that we may believe in Christ for salvation you're opposing.

Your opposition of the "written" makes you enemy of the source for those who may come to believe ( John 20:31), period.
