CANTON, N.C. – A North Carolina pastor says his church plans to burn Bibles and books by Christian authors on Halloween to light a fire under true believers.

Pastor Marc Grizzard told Asheville TV station WLOS that the King James version of the Bible is the only one his small western North Carolina church follows. He says all other versions, such as the Living Bible, are "satanic" and "perversions" of God's word.

whatever keeps the fire burning and keeps you warm I guess, I used a copy of the Odyssey shoved between the wall and the tank to keep my toilet from rocking at our old house, I think Homer would like that though, like, 'gee my work is so thought provoking and practical!'

So you also believe that the KJV is the only "true" version of the Bible?

Granted, I don't care much for the paraphrases (such as the Living Bible), but KJV only? Not me.

I do like the KJV, though....poetic, and therefore easier to memorize than other versions.

People need to take a more balanced approach to things like this.

People need to be led by the Spirit of God...

I don't really get it, but I'll cut them slack while they explain themselves. My only concern is what this is saying to people who are on the fence with their faith, and begin to suspect that what they put their faith into is fallible.

Maybe they should just stick to real satanic books!

Why books at all, why can't they just use wood and call it a bon-fire? They could roast marshmellows and sing songs.

There is just something errie about Christians sitting around on Halloween and burning bibles. Doesn't sound like they are Christian to me. I don't care what the translation is!
