The Bible has 613 Laws. Gluttony is not among them.
There are also a handful of things that are repeatedly told to us as being 'abominations' [seriously bad things].
On the other hand, there are also a few things which are not sins, but simply advised against. Debt is a good example.
Many people prefer to ignore the Word of God, insisting instead to make it up as they go.
What Infiri says about drunkards becoming poor also supports your point that the Proverb seems to be a word to the wise that if you drink too much you may become poor - as I have seen in the true lives of others.
Too much of anything can be a bad thing, IMO. Gluttony may apply to many other things in life besides food and drink.
I am not certain what cherries has to do with the OP.
Allow me to repeat myself.
Did you have one Bible passage, just one passage, where you think it says that gluttony is a sin?
You have not posted any Bible verses which say it is a sin so far. Yet you keep making the claim that the Bible says it is a sin.
So do you have a Bible passage, just one passage, where it says that gluttony is a sin?
This is not meant to be a difficult question.
No where in the scriptures does it say that child molestation is a sin. It doesn't even really mention child molestation in any negative sort of light, if at all ...
But we all know that it is a sin, and it doesn't have to be defined specifically to know it ...
The legalist will look at the letter of the law and will find ways to manipulate it in order to live in condemnation over others and in order to justify their own carnal weaknesses. The spiritualist will know the spirit of the law, and will understand it as a lesson in the basics of what builds and what destroys.
Anything you have in your life that is destructive is in essence a sin. Gluttony and addiction to food ultimately will kill you, just like addiction to heroine, it may be slower going, but it only inevitably leads to what all sin leads to, death.

Only within the context of man defining his own laws.
As for me and my household we will stand with the Lord.

Actually the bible talks about incest, and is against it.. but not against rape with a woman that is not pledged to be married.
I'm not sure you know what prejudicial rhetoric actually is.
The Bible sets out laws and sins.
Some men enjoy making up new laws and sins. Often men will insist that these man-made laws are from the Bible. The Bible is available for all of us to read, all of us can search it to find the truth.
Yet there are still those to wish to enforce their flavor of laws onto others.
