As a Catholic, I have never told any of my Protestant friends (or family members who married into my family) that they were not Christian. But, unfortunatly, a certain amount of anti-catholocism exists amongst some protestant people and/or denominations. It seems to be based more on misconceptions and ignorance of what the catholic church believes and teaches.
I always thought it was intersting that the Protestants see it as okay to be any Protestant denomination (Bible Christain, Evangelical, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc, etc)...like "anything but Catholic" seems to be the attitude. Maybe Anglican is getting dangerously close, but it's still not Catholic, so it's okay. What is that all about??
Even though I belive the Catholic church encompasses the "fullness of the faith", I have deep respect for my Protestant brothers and sisters in Christ who devoutly try to live their life for the Lord and be a great example of Christ on this earth.
One poster metioned the war....well, as far as that goes, it was the late (and Great) Pope John Paul II who warned against the invasion of Iraq, falling short of the "just war" criteria. Just an FYI.

It is actually based on what your church has said and what it teaches (I used to teach it)...Your church calls any one who is not catholic separated brethren...official teaching, and has athemized all who do not agree with her teachings, it also teaches that salvation is only found with in the Catholic church. That one who is not catholic cannot experience the fullness of the gospel, we non- catholics are what your church calls heretics.

That sounds almost exactly what the Seventh Day Adventist church says...about people who are not Adventists...I bet ya'll didn't know they were talking about you did you??
Catholics referring to Protestants as "separated brethen" is accurate, due to the fact that we are not all in union together. Although all Christians share basic fundamental beliefs, Caholics and Protestants are separated, since Protestants broke away and "separated" themselves over the last 500 years. It's historical fact.
I'm a Christian.............you're not!
I'm a better Christian than you!

You've interpreted that wrong, we haven't.
We know 'the truth', you don't!
Our truth is greater than yours!
I'm a 'true' Christian but you're not!

You're going to hell and I'm not!
You'd think they were talking to atheist but this is CHRISTIAN TO CHRISTIAN!!
Atheists, aren't you glad you don't have to contend with this every waking minute of our short time on this planet?

Let me speak for all Atheists everywhere and say a resounding YES!!!
I have a friend whose parents are Messianic Jews, they believe that Jesus Christ was indeed the son of God.
Catholic doctrine says Jesus Christ is God the sole creator of the Earth and Universe! Jesus is not the Son of God! Catholics believe that Jesus has Two natures (Devine) and (Mortal): Jesus is both 100% Mortal and 100% Devine!
The mortal nature is the Son and the Devine nature is God! Jesus shares these two natures equally! The Son is Man or Jesus's Human - Mortal nature! The bible says God created Adam and then took a rib of Adam and Created Eve (Women)!
Messianic Jews do not believe Jesus was the Son of God!! They are not Jews for Jesus! Messianic Jews do not consider themselves to be Christian and follow kosher guidelines! Jews for Jesus consider themselves to be Christians and do not follow kosher laws!
Messianic Jews believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah as talked about in the old testament! Mainstream Judiasm rejects Messianic Judiaism and does not believe the Jewish Messiah has arrived on Earth Yet and are still waiting for their Messiah to come!
You'd think they were talking to atheist but this is CHRISTIAN TO CHRISTIAN!!
