In Genesis the Breathed Word of God herbs are described for food purposes only. Also naturally growing marijuana or "ditch weed" does not get you high. So no one can use the argument that pot(not marijuana) or weed or whatever is a natural herb given by God through nature. Pot is a man made drug obtained through manipulation and breeding or whatever you call it in cultivating terms. God's marijuana plant is a weed and weeds hinder food growth. Smoking pot is drug use because you are obviously not sober and high and in Paul's epistles we are taught to be of a sober mind. This relates to your frame of mind and discernment skills, but if you are to even come close to a proper area of discernment you surely aren't going to do it stoned! So marijuana IS addressed in the Bible and it is for food purposes only, and whatever else there is that gets you drunk or high that goes directly against keeping a sober mind as stated in Paul's epistles, so yes it is a sin, but true faith and deed(as explained in James) and repentance from sin will get you forgiven. Repentance means doing everything you can to stop the sinning habits you are in, so you must quit doing sinful actions, not just ask for forgiveness every time you decide to do it. Amen.

Every time I meet somebody who is smoking pot, I tell him/her that he/she is going to hell.

Are you two for real?? Smoking marijuana is NOT a sin, for heaven's sake. Why would God put it here if it were not meant to be used for medicinal purposes? Everything should be done in moderation, even smoking pot. Overindulgence in ANYTHING such as food or alcohol is when it becomes a "sin".....but smoking or eating pot is not a sin in and of itself. Just more of that rigid fundamental legalism where everything is a sin.

Rom. 13:1-3
1. Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities for there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
2. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
3. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;

1 Peter 2:13-15 (Honor Authority)
13. Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,
14. or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.
15. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men.

God has placed the governing authority (laws, law enforcement) for us, meaning Christians to obey the laws of the land and so therefore smoking or having it in our possession would be breaking the law, no matter how we may try to justify it in our minds. Breaking the law is sin in God eyes.....

This is part of the law here in Mass in regards to Marijuana.

If you are caught with one ounce of marijuana or less, it is considered a civil offense within Massachusetts. Basically, this type of offense is less than a traffic violation, thus it does not require any jail time and requires those caught with one ounce of marijuana or less to pay a maximum fine of $100.

So any christian who has a traffic violation is more of a criminal than the the recreational pot smoker here in Mass . lmao

Folks keep this in mind:
'Things' are not spiritual, things are not evil.

There is no physical item that is inherently evil. God created the Heavens and Earth, and He pronounced all of His creation 'good'.

It is what you do with a thing that may be of an evil purpose or a holy purpose.
