I believe that the Jesus has already received the kingdom and has been ruling the earth for well over a 1000 years and that satan was released about the end of the 15th century or the beginning of the 16th century. Just look around the world armies are already gathered for war and have been most of the last century.

2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Revelation 20:7 AND at the end of the thousand years are completed, Satan be released from his prison, 8) and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to father them to gether for the war, the number of them is like the sand of the seashore.

Just 4 verses later, it tells you that Satan is released, so how is it you say that it doesn't line up that teaching???

The Bible has the answer. Jesus Christ is now in heaven preparing mansions for His children (John 14:1,2). When He returns, He will take us to Himself, "that where I am, there you shall be also" (vs. 3). Thus, when He comes, Jesus will take us to the place where He is now. Where is that? In heaven, in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 3:12; 21:10,24). Similarly, 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 tells us that when Jesus Christ returns at the end of the world that we shall be "caught up." Thus we are going UP to glory. In perfect agreement with this is Revelation 19:1,2, which tells us that immediately after the destruction of Babylon (Revelation 18:8-24), John saw all the saved IN HEAVEN with Jesus Christ.

According to Revelation 20:4,6, the saints will "reign" with Jesus for 1000 years. Yet, contrary to popular opinion, Revelation 20 DOES NOT SAY the saints will rule on earth at that time. This wouldnít make sense anyway, for why would Jesus and the saints rule over a devastated and ruined world covered with dead bodies? No. The Bible says that we are going UP when Jesus returns (1 Thessalonians 4:17), that Christ will take us to the NEW JERUSALEM (John 14:1-3), and that we will all be IN HEAVEN praising God after Babylon is destroyed (Revelation 19:1,2).

I'm not going to pick a side on this issue, but here's a few thoughts:

I don't know if the 1000 yr reign will be here on earth, or in heaven, and I don't really care so long as I am with Him. I mean, it's got to be better than where we are all at now, right? However, it seems odd though, that if it is in heaven, that it only lasts 1000 yrs. So what happens at year 1001? Wouldn't we still be there in heaven? And wouldn't Jesus still be reigning? Does He stop reigning just because the 1000 yrs are over with? Does He step aside and let somebody else have a turn? Just kicking around the "what if's" to ponder about...

Hmmm....to be able to live in the New Jerusalem sounds great...

There are two different destinies for two different groups:

The Circumcision group will be on the earth during the 1000 years.
The Uncircumcision group will be in the heavens during the 1000 years.

The Circumcision will be heading up all on the earth in the Christ.
The Uncircumcision will be heading up all in the heavens in the Christ.

1Th 4:17 Thereupon we, the living who are surviving, shall at the same time be snatched away together with them in clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And thus shall we always be together with the Lord."

For the Circumcision, read the whole Old Testament and New Testament leaving out Paul's writings to see that they will be on the earth during the 1000 year reign of Christ and New Earth age.

Circumcision:
Rev 20:4 And I perceived thrones, and they are seated on them, and judgment was granted to them. And the souls of those executed because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who do not worship the wild beast or its image, and did not get the emblem on their forehead and on their hand- they also live and reign with Christ a thousand years."

If you read Revelation you will kindly note the above takes place on the earth.

The 12 apostles (sans Paul) will sit on 12 thrones
Mat 19:28 Yet Jesus said to them, "Verily, I am saying to you, that you who follow Me, in the renascence whenever the Son of Mankind should be seated on the throne of His glory, you also shall sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

The gates of the New City Jerusalem which comes out of heaven and lands on the earth has twelve foundations and on them only the names of the 12 apostles (sans Paul):

Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lambkin."

There are plenty more but that should whet your appetite.
