It's not about pitting scripture against another, I can say scripture is clear when I present my point of view, and you can say scripture is clear from yours even though we may disagree on the issues we say are clear, so it is a pointless assertion when it comes to a supporting factor for the truth of ones belief.
I don't agree just because many can point to different "truths" doesn't mean there isn't truth or that we can't find it-someone has the truth and it is no excuse not to look for it or abandon scriptural authority. At the end of the day, there is one truth either you are right or I am but scripture remains my authority on what is truth. Without scripture then it is opinion and philosophy. You may not like it or find it imperfect but it is all we have and it is the word of God "God breathed"

Yea but where does it say or even insinuate that God's justice is lesser than man's justice ?
When the Lord said my ways are higher than yours , what He was saying was if you walk a mile He'd walk 2 , if you turned your cheek, He would turn both,If you fill something up , He will fill it to overflowing , if you love those who love you , He will love those who don't love Him, if you open your door to someone, He will open the doors of heaven,if you forgive , He forgives and remembers no more in otherwords you cannot out do God , because as i have read from one of you recent posts our best is His worse. You can never bring down God's attributes to the level of man's.
This Fundy is what is meant by His ways being higher than ours.

Dude, you're on fire today! Save it for a day when I can rep you.
God isn't but you are. You are so busy trying to rationalize what God is saying that you don't just stop at scripture but try to fill in the blanks. Does it seem irrational to the average human being including myself....OF COURSE!!! but that is not for us to decide what is rational. You can't know what is rational nor can you have an "inner justness" somehow separate from God's without God's word. You are just a clay pot.
Clay pots are used by Humans... God has no use for clay pots...
Some clay pots were used for toilets.. some for drinking... can't really mix the two LOL
I was raised Calvinist..however, I don't agree with OSAS (once saved always saved).
It is difficult to undestand the purposes of God in the hands of evil men and government...ie Neb, Pharoah, Rome...but if you look at it this way....it isn't our job to understand Him and His ways.
Isa 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all [are] the work of thy hand.
Job 40:2 "Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct [Him]? He who rebukes God, let him answer it."
Pitting verses at me is pointless since we do not have the same interpretation (the two "alls" are alike only in the sense that they both apply to descendants but the second "all" applies only to believers (gal 3:26, ephesians 3:6)
You cite this "exclusivity" doctrine repeatedly, Fundy . . . so where is the scripture that SAYS "ALL" ONLY applies to believers?

At the end of the day, you have missed the point every time.
I am saying that if you tell me from your point of view that "scripture is clear" that it is irrelevant to any support of whatever you think truth is.
Whatever truth is, saying "oh scripture is clear on that" doesn't mean diddly.

Mystic,
Assertion of the UR doctrine again? Christ died for all, however Paul is speaking to a congregation here....hence "you all"
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
He is not speaking about everyone here, although Christ did die for all mankind, but mankind needs to come to Christ.

All the epistles were written to believers. There isn't really any part of the bible that is specifically written to unbelievers except the gospels which are a general history and not meant to be given out as a guide for unbelievers...
So even though we are commissioned to spread the gospel it is not necessarily appropriate to use any of the epistles or revelation to spread the gospel. So those who say the evil will go to hell must also realize that those statements were made to believers... LOL
Yes indeed they were...therfore according to the doctrine of the epistles, the audience listening were the recipients to the blessing....those that weren't...aren't.
In the lake of fire thread, I posted most of the scriptures that pertain to universal reconciliation and salvation for those that come to Christ. Christ died for all, but all will not inherit the kingdom.
