I would like to request prayer for my marriage. My husband left last weekend and says he doesn't know if he he wants to come back. We have been married less than a year and are expecting a baby in February. We also have a amazing, Christ-filled, 11-year-old daughter from earlier in my life. My husband has left before and come back, but last time he said he would never come back if he left again. This time, though, he isn't saying it is over like he did before, just that he doesn't know and he has to "figure things out" or "sort things out." He will hardly talk to me, but I know from his family that he says he has to figure things out about God and church; he was raised in a Christian family but hasn't lived as he should the last several years. I know that he believes he is called to preach, but hasn't been ready to give up some things he would have to let go of in order to get things right with God (drinking, etc.). I love my husband and I am trying to have faith in God, but I am really struggling. I know there are things that I need to change, too. I am praying that God will change me however He needs. I would appreciate any prayers you would give on our behalf. Thank you so much. God bless.

Your family is in my prayers.

Marriage is "spriritual boot camp".

I've seen much worse healed through open and honest communication. Usaully with objective help from outside the family.

I am gonna quote a prayer found in the book of prayers by Don Miguel Ruiz that may be appropriate for you:

"Today, Creator, grant me the courage and the will to forgive the people I love the most. Help me to forgive every injustice I feel in my mind, and to love other people unconditionally. I know the only way to heal all the pain in my heart is through forgiveness.
Today, Creator, strengthen my will to forgive everyone who has hurt me, even if I believe the offense is unforgivable. I know that forgiveness is an act of self-love. Help me to love myself so much that I forgive every offense. Let me choose forgiveness because I don't want to suffer every time I remember the offense.
Today, Creator, help me to heal all the guilt in my heart by accepting the forgiveness of everyone I have hurt in my life. Help me to sincerely recognize the mistakes I have made out of ignorance, and give me the wisdom and determination to refrain from making the same mistakes. I know that love and forgiveness will transform every relationship in the most positive way.
Thank you, Creator, for giving me the capacity to love and forgive. Today I open my heart to love and forgiveness, so that I can share my love without fear. Today I will enjoy a reunion with the people I love the most. AMEN."

Hope that prayer helps. I know the book I quoted from helped me during a separation from my spouse.

Prayer sent to you as well....Trust in Him...He only knows what is right for us, as painful as it may seem today...you will see the purpose in it later.

I guarantee you.

I would suggest instead that you take things into your own hands, and start marriage counseling. After all, god won't do the work for you.

Thank you so much. That is a beautiful prayer. Sometimes I find it really, really hard to find the words to pray, so I just have to trust God to know what is in my heart. I hope and pray that all is well with your marriage now. Thank you.
