Just a quick thought, Went to a Promise Keepers meeting a few years back, first and only time i got to go, in Jackson, MS, and there were men there from more denominations than you could count, and music was the common denominator there, it was awesome, 30,000 men singing How Great thou Art, seemed that the arena rumbled

Ditto to those four. I also love:

Because He Lives

Blessed Assurance

Precious Lord, Take My Hand

Peace In The Valley

I'll Fly Away

Love Lifted Me

I Love To Tell The Story

and so many more from the good old Broadman Hymnal.

My half brother and his wife both have Masters degrees in music and both teach. They're both keyboard players and they're really into some of the classical music that's commonly played in churches. Pipe organs are one of the most beautiful instruments ever invented. They sound even more impressive in a large room with good acoustics which is what you typically find in a good sized church. It's pretty hard to top that sound. I can understand why people get inspired.

I just thought of another who's really impressive. If any of you watched the funeral for Princess Diana they played this magnificent piece of music and I had to find out what it was. The man is John Tavener and there's a cd called Innocence which has that same music. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

I forgot that when I posted, and I absolutely love it. Also, The Old Rugged Cross. I'm not into contemporary Christian as that "old time religion is good enough for me."

I felt wonderful when I flung like a frisbee my classic rock CD's of AC/DC, Van Halen, Great White, etc and smashed them against the wall. Very liberating

Thanks for everyone that posted their favorite songs. They are all fantastic!

BTW, Amazing Grace definitely makes this big tough guy a girly man. No offense ladies
