No one is stoning her to death, she lacks spiritual maturity and her shepherd is one of the reasons she is in this mess not to mention giving the gospel a black eye. The world says, "Another Christian hypocrite" If he had handled it better in the first place it would not have been such a blow.

The "world" hates us anyway so I do not live my life worrying about what the "world" thinks or says.
Anyone who thinks they are spiritually mature are setting themselfs up for a great fall.
You ever heard of King David of Israel? He was a man after God's own heart and he committed sexual immorality and murder. He did not look like a "christian" at that moment but he still belonged to Jesus.

The church should be a place where people can come to for help, rather than just a gathering for like-minded people. Is the pastor not correct - is she not a work in progress? Should the church dismiss her because she's not perfect?
|
Then explain to me why homosexual people cannot ALSO be looked upon as a "work in progress."
Yes, we all need humility and we all have areas of our lives that we can work on, but to "forgive" her sin, while preaching against homosexuality, is clearly hypocrisy of the worst kind.
Give me a break.
So it's okay to make a sex-tape, and be welcomed back into the congregation, but you can bet they wouldn't accept any gay people there.
Sin is sin, like it or not.

Any pastor preaching the New Covenant will preach against any sexual immorality but also preach the Love and Forgiveness of Christ Jesus.
Jesus can set us free from any type of sexual immorality.
Do you personally know that the pastor does not accept homosexual people in his congregation? A congregation of that size is most likely to have several homosexuals.
I have never seen a church with a sign out front that states: "No sinners welcome here."

I sometimes find a difference between what Jesus did and commanded us to do, and the often elitist mindset of some congregations. She's stood up for her convictions in front of millions of people and now she's showing signs of fatigue - I'm not going to throw her off the bus, she's got potential.

I would accept gay people in my church, any given day. I'd still hold their hand and offer peace and stand in the same queue for the communion rites.
I guess it's true with several Christians, it's not like the gay folks are being necked out with a stick

Carrie Prejean's pastor isn't willing to give up on his famous fallen beauty queen, after learning she made a graphic, solo sex tape.
Pastor Darren Carrington from The Rock Church in San Diego says, "Everyone is a work in progress," adding everyone has "something we're not proud of."
The Pastor is reacting to the TMZ story that Carrie folded like a cheap suit during settlement negotiations with Miss California USA officials after they pulled out the ultimate Trump card -- a solo sex tape.
"
We're told it took about 15 seconds for Carrie to reduce her demand from more than $1 million to ... just validate my parking, please.

Is it just me, or is this just a tad bit hypocritcal?
She called out homosexuals, yet had a SEX TAPE floating around?
|
Typical but not hypocritical. The pastor is like many thousands of pastors and will do whatever it takes to bring people in and if Carrie can bring them in then it's fine with him.
The Bible is very clear about the walk of a believer which should be marked by good fruit and a life of holiness.
"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:16-20)
"Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance..." (Luke 3:8)
"Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God." (Philippians 1:11)
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James 3:17)
"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." (Romans 6:22)
"Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." (2 Corinthians 7:1)
"And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." (Ephesians 4:24)
"For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness." (2 Thessalonians 4:7)
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" (Hebrews 12:14)
"For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches." (Romans 11:16)
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)
"In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:" (Colossians 1:22)
"But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15,16)
There are many many more Scriptures that speaks to this womans situation. However, she has willing and premeditatedly "presented her body for sexual gratification to millions of men" and not "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)
