Unhappy India News, If You Go to Church, You Die.

If Kalyan Rai or Arvind Gudeep go to their churches, they may be murdered.

Kalyan and Arvind are two Gospel for Asia-supported missionaries in Uttar Pradesh, India. Within a short time, both pastors received death threats from extremists in their areas.

If you don't leave Jesus, we will come back on Sunday and burn you alive.
From the link posted.

And the absolutely beautiful part is this.....they WILL COME BACK. Not because they can't worship and study at home...but to make the point that the God of the entire Universe that they serve....is just that much more important than what the world has to say.

So, someone kills their earthly body and when they reopen their eyes...they see Jesus and enter into eternal life:
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:55

Amen! Would to God we all had hearts like that.

It seems much hasn't changed since the 2nd century. For those that aren't aware....Orthodox Christians also persecuted and killed other Christians who did not believe the same as they do, not to mention the brutal persecutions and executions the Church of Rome and Constantine committed....and life goes on.

Yeah?? But history is sad.

The ancestors of the same people killed St. Thomas the Apostle.

Every society and religious group has some sloping-forehead types who threaten and sometimes actually commit violence against those who are of different religions. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Still I find it interesting that these Christian sites are so concerned about persecution of Christians rather then human rights in general. I would argue that the government of India is far more supportive of it's religious minorities then the U.S. For instance Muslims and Christians are have there own legal codes that deal with family issues (something I think is ridiculous - there should be one secular civil code).

Plus there is an inherent intolerance built into the Christian religion towards anyone who believes otherwise. As an example: I was waiting for train in Bangalore when an Indian man introduced himself (his name was straight out of the bible - John Gabriel or something like that), and immediately started lecturing me on how Jesus was the only way. While it would be completely wrong to judge all Indian Christians based on one obnoxious example, I couldn't help viewing this on a symbolic level: the reason there is a substantial Christian community in India (as opposed to Iran or Saudi Arabia) is because India has a non-exclusive spiritual tradition which (spiritually at least) is open to other religions. That at least some of the practitioners of some of these other religions refuse to recognize the legitimacy of the spiritual tradition of the majority strikes me as very ironic.
