...being so young, (born in '57), I don't remember much about those years, but I am drawn to the all the documentaries and movies about vietnam...the music is something else that our soldiers listened to...hearing Tokyo Rose...the music and the war just seems to go together for some odd reason...you could probably enlighten me about that....but also, as you hint at, there wasn't a very nice homecoming for you guys...not to mention the war itself.

...but I would like for you to know, and anyone else out there that may have been treated badly...I, for one, appreciate what you went through and for what you had to endure, so that I could have the freedoms that I so enjoy today...we wouldn't have them if it weren't for you...we wouldn't be the beautiful country we are if it wasn't for you...so, from the bottom of my heart I thank you, for everything.

Remember the soldiers who were murdered this week in Texas...include them in your prayers...and their loved ones who are left behind without them now...pray for justice.

Blessings to you all,
Love,
Verna.

Thank all of you who support our soldiers past and present. I am currently in the National Guard on active duty here at Camp Shelby, MS. I have been on active duty since 2004. I have also been blessed to have been here (Camp Shelby) all this time and not actually in the war zone, but I understand that if I have to go, then so be it. I have a relative in every branch of the service except the coast guard. My dad is a retired guardsman. My brother and I are in the same unit at Shelby and we have a cousin who is also at Shelby on active duty but in a different unit. So as you can see my family and I are pretty much involved in the military.
