Default Godliness has the promises of this life, and of the life to come...

...the prosperity of the godly, shall be an eye-sore to the wicked.

Praise ye the LORD.

Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in His Commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

A good man sheweth favour and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion [judgement].

Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desires upon his enemies.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor: his righteousness endureth forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
Psalms 112:1-10.

"Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:12, 13)

Default The godly profess their confidence in God, and pray to be delivered from the contempt of others who are at ease...

...Unto Thee lift I up mine eyes: O Thou that dwelleth in the heavens.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their Masters, and as the eyes of a maiden, unto the hand of her mistress: so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that He have mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease: and with the contempt of the proud.

Psalms 123:1-4.

Oh, how I love God's promises! But, we must meet the condition of each promise in order to claim them.

Malachi 3
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse [the condition], that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field [the promise], saith the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 4
1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name [the condition] shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this [the promise], saith the LORD of hosts.

Here are the promises of all promises.

1 John 1
9 If we confess our sins [the condition], he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [the promise].

1 John 1
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light [the condition], we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin [the promise].

Yes scgraham...

All the promised blessings of God ARE contingent upon obedience to His Commandments...ALL of them. God's Word states this "overlooked" fact throughout the ENTIRE Bible, but most just choose to ignore it...why?...because they love their sin more than they care to hear the truth of God's Word, so be it, it's their choice...one can "believe" or "confess" and "repent" until they're blue in the face, but UNTIL they STOP sinning, they WILL NOT enter the Kingdom of heaven...period.

EVEN SATAN BELIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!..."Believing" is way more than a feeling...it is the LOVE of God...IN ACTION!!! Confess...???? Sure!, confess till the cows come home!..but if there is no change in you in turning from your sinful nature to your Christ-like nature<<<living a righteous life without sin!...it's just hollow words!!!...Repent...?...Repent a thousand times!...but UNTIL you TRULY repent and turn FROM your sinful nature>>FOREVER...repenting is just NOTHING to God!

It doesn't matter if you believe it or not...it is the truth. God's Word says so, and I'll take His Word on the subject before I take anyone's!

(Of course, if you don't believe in the Word of God in the first place...if you think Jesus was just a prophet, and lays in the ground just like ALL the other prophets do this day...if you think you can live a life full of sin, and die in those sins, only to be welcomed into the Kingdom of God anyway...(oh...that's only after burning for just an eon... WHATEVER !!!)...or whatever in "what" you might believe in other than the truth, then none of this will help you anyway) your choice...I'm done debating the subject though. I am limited in what I can offer in a debate concerning this...and I've covered it all, 1000 times over, it doesn't do any good, because those who aren't limited by the Word of God can come up with 100,000,000 ways to nowhere why what God says isn't what God says.....it's futile!!!...pointless!!!

I Thank God that I have the truth, and I don't have to twist, omit, add, ignore ONE SINGLE WORD in the Bible to understand what He IS truly saying...every bit of it makes PERFECT sense...like a song...a very precious, sweet song that I cherish.

If the following confuses you...then that just says you are blinded from knowing the truth at this time...I pray that the day comes when you can understand it with complete clarity...but that will take you being filled with the Holy Spirit...first.

1 John 3:1-12

(1) John declares the singular love of God towards us, in making us His sons: (3) Who therefore ought obediently to keep His Commandments, (11) As also brotherly to love one another.

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it kneweth Him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear, what we shall be: but we know, that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him: for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in Him, purifieth himself, even as He is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin, transgresseth also the Law: for sin is the transgression of the Law.
5 And you know that He [Jesus-The Word of God] was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in Him, sinneth not: whosoever sinneth, hath not seen Him, neither know Him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doth rightousness, is righteous, even as He is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin, is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning: for this purpose the Son of God [Jesus-The Word of God], was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God, doth not committ sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness, is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 For this is the message [commandment] that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother: and why did he slay him? because his own works were evil, and his brother's were righteous.

...perfectly clear.

Yes, Verna. We can point out the scriptures to give understanding and meaning, but going beyond that becomes debating. If people won't listen, pray for them and turn them over to God.

2 Corinthians 12:20
For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults
