The comments after the article are fascinating.
So much passion, so much tension.
It's one of the reasons I love the Catholic Church.

We are witnesses to another page in her history.

I am conflicted though on where I fall in the conflict.

I have such great respect for women religious, and the maternal character of the Church. Women have played a greater role in my formation than men.

It was afterall a woman who gave birth to, nourished, and stood at the cross with our Savior.

It was a woman who the resurrected Christ first showed himself to.

They are the womb of the Holy Spirit. They gave birth to the Church.

Like any marriage, the paternal and maternal better find a way to work things out, if they are to be fruitful.
