Default 1 Thess 4:17 question

I was just informed that the word used for "air" in this verse:

1 Thess. 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

is "aer" in the greek.

Strongs states that "aer" (#109) is from aemi (to breathe unconsciously, i.e. Respire; by analogy, to blow); "air" (as naturally circumambient) -- air.

I can't find much about this except that the prefix aer- as in aerobic is derived from the greek "aer". Aerobic means with oxygen, as in respiration.

Does anyone have anymore information on this word?

I always thought it meant "air" where the clouds... but is that even what this whole verse is talking about?

Would you Believe, if God Himself descended from heaven and personally told you so? That's where we all ought to begin......Do I believe God's Word? We are living in the time of decision.......

I believe it relates to;

Jhn 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Everyone that is Born of the Spirit/ Born of God... can come and go as the wind. They can appear and disappear at the speed of Love.
Jesus did this many times during His Ministry, as well there were Apostles, Saints, Desciples that did this as well.
It is the point where no man can take your life, you lay it down or take it up.

Those that are caught up are His Bride, their lamps are full w/ Oil, they are the light of the world. They can't give it to another, one must ask and receive it from the Holy Spirit.

godspeed,

freedom

You do realize that what you are saying has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted... right?

What are you talking about?

1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1Th 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

1Th 5:20 Despise not prophesyings.

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Th 5:24 Faithful [is] he that calleth you, who also will do [it].

godspeed,

freedom

Another thing I noticed was that the base of aer refers properly to an inanimate breeze, according to Strong's #5594.

So why is it that some think there is a meeting in the air when it is more likely referring to wind and doesn't denote height or rising up at all?

Yes, but there is no need to prove God is God..............He Is!!! He already proved Himself to Doubting Thomas....that's should suffice. Oh ye of little faith, what else do we need?
