Yes. I'm sure me getting up on Christmas morning and watching my children open a few gifts, then going to my mom's and spending the day with family, eating, and playing games is an abomination to God.
Not to mention last Saturday, when I had a birthday party for my 7 year old. He invited 3 boys over, my daughter and I took them to a movie, then back home for cake and ice cream, then opening presents and the boys playing with the toys til their parents came...I'm positive that was an abomination to God as well.
The nerve I have teaching my children to enjoy life!
Does anyone remember about the guideline when eating at a non-believer's house that if the host place before a believer, meat that was offered to idols, but the believer wasn't told, the believer was not to ask for conscience sake and eat it freely, but if they told the believer that it was offered up to idols, then the believer was not to eat it?
For those that have a thing against christmas like some are having knowledge of the pagan origin of it as a reason to call it an abomination: your not wanting to celebrate it is being done as unto the Lord.
I'm sure there are other reasons for not wanting to celebrate christmas: so be it... but you do so as unto the Lord.
For those that do not have a thing against Christmas and do so to honour the day of His birth and/or to even use the time to practise charity, giving gifts to children, family, and friends, and maybe even a few towards the poor, you do so as unto the Lord.
I know that there are no instructions about celebrating the birth of Christ as there are those that contend when Christ's birth was:
But let us remember that the angels made a big deal about His birth, and heralded it for others to come to honour Christ at His birth.
So let no one get mad at those that do not celebrate christmas, and let none judge those that do celebrate christmas.
Romans 14: 1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. 14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Colossians 2: 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:17Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
So irregardless how some believers do not celebrate christmas, they are the Lord's.... just as those that do.

Celebrating Christmas is the abomination to God, not the enjoyment you have with your children which you can do or have anytime of the year.

It may not be the actual day, but if anyone regard a day as to honour the Lord's birth, they do so as unto the Lord.
You do not want to do it, that is fine. You do so as unto the Lord.
Whethor we honour the day or not, we do so as unto the Lord for the Lord has received us.
If the day is seen as unclean to you then so be it.
But for those that wish to be a continual witness of Jesus Christ by honouring the day of His birth that the world is trying to smother out with materialism as the nation seems to be working to remove "Christ" from christmas ... go for it!
Tis a season for giving and what better way to remember God's gift to us & bear witness of that gift to the world?
The most common justification that one will hear regarding Christmas is that people have replaced old pagan customs and intents by asserting that they are now “focusing on Christ.” I have heard many say that they are “honoring Christ” in their Christmas-keeping. The problem is that God does not say this is acceptable to Him! Actually, He plainly commands against it! Keeping Christmas dishonors Christ! He considers everything about it to be an abomination! We will soon see why.
Christ said, “But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matt. 15:9). Christmas is not a command of God—it is a tradition of men. Christ continued, “Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition” (Mark 7:9). Every year, throughout the world, on December 25th, hundreds of millions do just that!
We will see that God plainly commands, “Follow not the way of the heathen.” But most people do not fear God, and He allows them to make their own decisions. Human beings are free moral agents—free to obey or disobey God! But woe to those who ignore the plain Word of God!
Let’s see how God’s people, Israel, worshiped Baal/Molech once they had departed from the true God: “And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into My mind, that they should do this abomination…” (Jer. 32:35).
Notice that God Himself says that such horrible abominations never even entered His mind: “They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spoke it, neither came it into My mind: Therefore, behold, the days come, says the Lord, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter” (Jer. 19:5). Verse 6 ties the valley of Tophet or Hinnom to this practice. Jeremiah 7:31 connects Tophet and Hinnom to child sacrifice. Tophet means “the drum.” Drums were played to drown the screams of victims in the flames.
YES !!! Always Have Always Will
I posted something about this on another thread.
The Highlight is the High Mass, Midnight Mass as some call it. I usually attend an Episcopal church (About the only time of year I go too) It is such a beautiful service, something that inspires in it's beauty. I usually sneak out after the kids are in bed and get back right before Santa Claus arrives. So far, it is about the most beautiful and inspiring religious service I have ever attended. (And I am NOT religious)
I do want Christmas to be a fun happy time; I do what I can to foster good memories and meaning for my family, my kids will look back and have great memories and thoughts on this holiday.
I do put up a tree and lights, although this year we found enough lights not working and enough time not available to cut back on the number in use. I still decorated the house to the hilt inside though.
It is the most beautiful time of the year.

That is the difference between wanting to celebrate christmas and obeying to celebrate christmas.
As for the true origin of Christmas.... I am not bothering to find out for conscience's sake.
But I do find that the oddity of looking to Christmas as the season for giving to the poor when the church should be doing that every week from the bounty they have collected from anonymous cheerful givers. Not everyone look to christmas for that reason, but yet, that seems to be the time that they are "inspired" most to give to the poor.
