So then in your understanding, sin would remain for eternity. That defeats the entire purpose for which Jesus came:

1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

So if sin can exist anywhere for the rest of eternity then Jesus fails to completely eradicate it and complete the purpose.

Doesn't a person convince oneself based on knowledge ?
If a person ignores accurate knowledge then 'no' they can not convince or prove to oneself what is religious truth.

There is No need to disprove the Bible's hell [grave / sheol ]
What is disproven is the fact that the Bible' hell is NOT a permanent place of forever torture.

The Bible's hell is temporary. The Bible's hell is just a temporary sleeping place [ grave ] until resurrected out of hell.

Jesus did Not spend forever in hell. If hell was permanent, Jesus could Not have gotten out of biblical hell.

Revelation [ 20 vs 13, 14 ] is clear that death and hell will be cast into a symbolic 'second death'. But only after hell 'gives up' everyone in hell, then emptied-out hell is cast vacant to that 'second death' for vacant hell.
Everyone in hell is 'delivered up' [ meaning will be resurrected out of hell ] before hell is destroyed in second death.

Those Not considered as being in hell are considered as destroyed forever [ annihilated ] Psalm 92 v 7
Biblical hell is mankind's common grave until resurrected to either heaven or resurrected back to life on earth.
Whereas, those who commit the unforgivable sin have No resurrection anywhere.- Hebrews 6 vs 4-6; Matt. 12 v 32.
Adam simply 'returned' to the dust of the ground. a person can not return to a place which he never was before.
Adam went from non-life returning back to non-life at his death.
We are innocent of what father Adam brought upon his human family.
Because we are innocent God sent Jesus to rescue us from the grave with the opportunity of gaining everlasting life starting with Jesus' coming 1000-year kingdom reign over earth when enemy 'death' will be no more.

According to Scripture it is ' death ' that is the wage or price tag that sin pays.
There is No mention of post-mortem penalty for Adam at his death.
So, ' death ' stamps the price tag of sin as ' Paid In Full '.
That is why Romans 6 v 7 can say that the one who has died is acquitted [ freed, released, pardoned ] from his sin.
[ only those committing the unforgivable sin will have No resurrection - Matt. 12 v 32; Hebrews 6 vs 4-6 ]

What happened to Jesus' sin when Jesus went to hell ?
Nothing of course because Jesus did not sin.
Jesus was in the Bible's hell [ sheol / grave ] 'sleeping in death' until God resurrected Jesus out of hell.
[ John 11 vs 11,14; Acts 2 vs 27,31,32; 3v 15; Ecc. 9 v 5; Psalms 3 v 13; 6 v 5; 115 v 17; 146 v 4; Daniel 12 vs 2,13 ]

Because Jesus paid the price for our sins, we can have a resurrection. Some to heaven [ Rev 20 v 6 ], but the majority of mankind will have a future resurrection [ Acts 24 v 15 ] during Jesus' coming 1000-year kingdom reign over Earth.

Did Jesus burn for eternity while Jesus was buried in biblical hell for 3 days ?

Their guilt remains on them for eternity. Dont read into it what isn't there.
