Thanks Mercy777;
Your post of bible symbols is going to help me so much
I was trying to get closer to our father last night, and I think he answered me!! Its not like I was searching for this either. I was reading the latest news about the 800 infant and small children bodies found in a well at an old Catholic Home for the Unwed in Ireland. First thing that popped in my head was the ***** of babylon. I dont know much of the symbolism in the bible, but know about the church being called a woman. Now I find this: 17:5 And on her forehead a name written - Whereas the saints have the name of God and the Lamb on their foreheads. Mystery - This very word was inscribed on the front of the Pope's mitre, till some of the Reformers took public notice of it. Babylon the great - Benedict XIII., in his proclamation of the jubilee, A.D. 1725, explains this sufficiently. His words are, To this holy city, famous for the memory of so many holy martyrs, run with religious alacrity.
