What is the purpose of people who don't believe? If they are doomed to hell what was their purpose (as you believe God had for them) if they missed their purpose all along (missed the mark...etc.)?
The only two choices I see (and perhaps I am being narrow-minded here) are:
- God put non-believers on earth for the purpose of teaching others what is not good but is evil.
- God put non-believers on earth to exalt those who did believe and made the right choices.
The problem with #1 is that if he put them there to show evil then how can that purpose count against them? Then they didn't miss the mark if the mark was to show evil.
The problem with #2 is all the verses about how it is not man's desire that counts. Salvation is not of ourselves or we could boast. So the choices we make (whether bad or good) cannot count against us toward an eternal hell. So exalting someone doesn't mean you burn the other to me... and I don't think God's purpose (from what I know of God per Jesus' example, 1 John 4, 1 Cor 13) is to exalt one human over the other or he is a respecter of persons.
I believe God created each human for a purpose....
So did I miss a choice or did I make an illogical leap in thought? or what?
Why were non-believers created if they all end up in hell?
