A Jacksonville, Fla., church has a message for the community: Come hear the message of hope this Easter and get your light bill paid!
In the run-up to Easter, The Bridge Church is reaching out to neighbors through road side signs, billboards, radio and television to communicate to the city that they care.
Well, I just don't know what to think about this. I suppose it's a good thing, if the church is teaching the right message. But I think lots of people will be there just to get their light bills paid and may even get up and leave before the sermon starts!!

Boy,won't that be a kick in the pants........but that's human nature.
Besides only showing up for that reason or for a little while, it may pull many others from their own churches that day! I think people should go to church because they want to go, feel the need, etc. and not because someone is bribing them. I have had a problem for a long time with churches who offer special gifts or perks just for coming to a service. Isn't the word of God through message, prayer, liturgy, Holy Communion and music enough?
