To me it seems there is a balance between love and justice.

I don't mean for this thread to be a debate -- it is more a thinking thread of why you believe what you believe.

If God has to torment any that do not believe in this life before death because of his justice to me it seems that his love and mercy has failed and only condemnation is left.

Justice to me is about rewarding the good and punishing the evil, and is based on actions which stem from the heart.

1Co 13:4 Love is patient, is kind. Love is not jealous. Love is not bragging, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 is not indecent, is not self-seeking, is not incensed, is not taking account of evil,
1Co 13:6 is not rejoicing in injustice, yet is rejoicing together with the truth,
1Co 13:7 is forgoing all, is believing all, is expecting all, is enduring all."
1Co 13:8 Love is never lapsing: yet, whether prophecies, they will be discarded, or languages, they will cease, or knowledge, it will be discarded."

I do believe that there is judgment and that God is not mocked and what people sow they will reap.

I'm glad you brought up this subject because it's something that has been making me itch all day since someone said a phrase earlier today:

"God is love but God is also the God of Justice" (or something to that affect.) That phrase is so often repeated. So many say "God is love... BUT..." or "God is love... AND.."

For me, I say no "buts" and no "ands".
God IS Love.

It's like someone saying... God is LOVE, but God is ALSO the God of kindness. or God is love, AND He is the God of niceness.

God's justice/judgments is all part of the LOVE that God IS.

It's like people don't believe in the POWER of it... the POWER of LOVE, the POWER of God. They don't yet truly UNDERSTAND the AWESOME POWER!!
There is NOTHING MORE powerful than LOVE.
GOD IS LOVE.

It's His LOVE that burns off what needs to be burned off in us.
He is perfecting us in love.

Yes. "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God"
But you see, we can TRUST Him with our "falling into the hands.."
and we can TRUST Him with our NEIGHBOR "falling into the hands."
It IS a fearful thing. Because of WHO He is.
But perfect love casts out all fear.
Again. He is perfecting us IN love.

God's justice is all part of the LOVE that God IS.

Since that concept has been embroidered onto my heart, I just can't see it any other way, now. No other way, in my eyes, gives him the absolute HIGHEST GLORY that HE deserves.

Just my 2 cents..

What I also believe is that it is the flesh and the lust of the flesh that are under condemnation and by sowing to them you will reap death,

Resurrection to me is about being raised from the dead (which includes the second DEATH) aftersuffering the second death.

Christianity generally divides God into two part.

They often say "Yes, God is love BUT.... He is also just".

Whenever anyone says "God is love BUT" red flags go up for me.

Executing justice means to make things 'right'. There is no "BUT".

Love makes things right.

God is love, God is one.

I wish folks would stop trying to divide the indivisible.
