Romans 2:5
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.

It is what will be handed down from God and only God.

Righteous judgment.

Judgement coming from God, which must go along with the following:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

God IS love. and His judgements must be brought forth FROM LOVE.
Therefore God's judgements sole goal would be to bring forth LOVE in a person's heart. To PERFECT a person in love. I say this because of this:

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Perfect love casts out ALL fear.

Righteous judgment is that which brings about a transformation for the BETTER in a human being. God's judgments are to PERFECT us ALL in LOVE.

God knows the number of hairs on our head. HE knows us better than we know ourselves. He subjected us to frustration for a reason. He is responsible for His creation. He has started a good work in ALL, and He will finish it. Of this I am confident and have FULL faith.

His righteous judgment is born out of LOVE.
He knows everything there is to know about us.
And His righteous judgments are to perfect us in LOVE.
Yes it is not always going to be pleasant, walking through HIS fire burns off our carnality, but we should have NO fear, because we know He loves us with a perfect love. Our lives are in the palm of His hands...and we can TRUST Him. For His judgment is RIGHTEOUS.

Just the way I currently see things...
peace,
sparrow

This is an example of what God's righteous judgment does:

Isaiah 26:9b When your judgments come upon the earth,
the people of the world learn righteousness.

Sodom and Gomorrah;
The Great Flood;
The destruction of the Babylon Tower;

little things like that. Why do you ask?

To show that restoration followed each of your examples.

Mercy triumphs over judgement.

Yes but...The purpose and function of the first Adam, be it ADAM of the sixth day or Adam in the garden, was to produce and propagate children to fill the earth.

Christ, The Last Adam has the same function and purpose of the first
Adam. To bear children. Spiritual children that are not of the flesh. The Last Adam is to propagate children that would inhabite a heavenly realm that is not of this earth nor flesh. It isn't automatic.
Hence, the increase. This relies on your earthly choice, for the spiritual reward.

Since God is righteous and created righteousness, it's not up to me to decide what is righteous judgment. It is up to the one who created it.
