Almost two centuries ago, the eruption lasted for 2 years in Iceland. Currently, it is reported that this eruption is costing $200 million a day. What if it lasts for 2 years? That would be a complete disruption of life for the world.

I know what you mean. Imagine what the people that's affected by that eruption, how different life is for them right now. They woke up one day and their lives has been change drastically. Same with China, Indonesia, my goodness Haiti, Chile.....What if something on that magnitude happens right here in the U.S.A.? How different life would be for many of us on a larger scale......
That's the risk they took when they decided to live on a known volcanic hot spot...
