However, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the intensification of "signs" in NATURE, at a level that is hard to miss even by secularist.

Now you can laugh, scoff and mock all you want...that's okay! Nobody said you couldn't, true? True! But EVEN that too...is a "sign" in and of itself! So in all actuality, you are helping to fulfill prophecy, unbeknownst to even yourselves!! How so, you ask? According to the Words of God......this is how you're are part of the plan:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (King James Version 2Peter 3: 3-18)

OR.........

Having first of all the knowledge that in the last days there will be men who, ruled by their evil desires, will make sport of holy things,

Saying, Where is the hope of his coming? From the death of the fathers till now everything has gone on as it was from the making of the world.

But in taking this view they put out of their minds the memory that in the old days there was a heaven, and an earth lifted out of the water and circled by water, by the word of God;

And that the world which then was came to an end through the overflowing of the waters

But the present heaven and the present earth have been kept for destruction by fire, which is waiting for them on the day of the judging and destruction of evil men.

But, my loved ones, keep in mind this one thing, that with the Lord one day is the same as a thousand years, and a thousand years are no more than one day.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his word, as he seems to some, but he is waiting in mercy for you, not desiring the destruction of any, but that all may be turned from their evil ways.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; and in that day the heavens will be rolled up with a great noise, and the substance of the earth will be changed by violent heat, and the world and everything in it will be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things are coming to such an end, what sort of persons is it right for you to be, in all holy behaviour and righteousness,

Looking for and truly desiring the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will come to an end through fire, and the substance of the earth will be changed by the great heat?

But having faith in his word, we are looking for a new heaven and a new earth, which will be the resting-place of righteousness.

For this reason, my loved ones, as you are looking for these things, take great care that when he comes you may be in peace before him, free from sin and every evil thing.

And be certain that the long waiting of the Lord is for salvation; even as our brother Paul has said in his letters to you, from the wisdom which was given to him;

And as he said in all his letters, which had to do with these things; in which are some hard sayings, so that, like the rest of the holy Writings, they are twisted by those who are uncertain and without knowledge, to the destruction of their souls

For this reason, my loved ones, having knowledge of these things before they take place, take care that you are not turned away by the error of the uncontrolled, so falling from your true faith.

But be increased in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May he have glory now and for ever. So be it.

(Bible in Basic English /2Peter 3: 3-18)

What's the moral of the story you ask? AGAIN according to the Words of God:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
(King James Version / Galatians 6: 7-8)

OR.......

Be not tricked; God is not made sport of: for whatever seed a man puts in, that will he get back as grain.

Because he who puts in the seed of the flesh will of the flesh get the reward of death; but he who puts in the seed of the Spirit will of the Spirit get the reward of eternal life. (Bible in Basic English / Galatians 6: 7-8)

Choose today whom you will serve! Choose carefully, choose wisely, but carry on, if you must.....

Betsey
Betsey, vigilance in the spirit is a virtue...and I make every effort to be...but leaving it to GOD to carry out his Divine Plan...with an earnest prayer that no one is left behind.

Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

We are more effective as God's children to our brethren when we spread GOD'S LOVE without condemnation...don't you agree?

Sincerely...

Betsey,

I think the problem is "Christianity," especially TBN, has made a mockery of the truth. It REPEATEDLY gives false prophecies. There are MANY verses in the BIBLE that these TV evangelists supposedly believe in, but in reality do not, that talk about false prophets, which ALL of these evangelists are. They have mocked God, they have mocked the truth for FAR too long. They have led MANY away from the truth and have tied themselves to snakes. And these preachers are RESPONSIBLE for turning so many people into MOCKERS! WHY? Think about it.

What makes it so sad is there were so many people hungering for the truth, hungering for leadership, and they listened throughout the years, only to be tricked time and time again. These "evangelists" are responsible for MILLIONS of people LOSING the faith. There are just way too many people fed up with all the lies. They are cynical and angry. And they should be. They devoted TIME, and MONEY, and SOOO much EFFORT, while these "evangelists" sat in their MANSIONS and TOLD LIES!

If you are old enough to remember, for as long as TBN and others have been on the air, they have been telling lies. THEIR PREDICTIONS have FAILED! AND they STILL don't SHUT UP! NO HUMILITY or TEARS for their LIES!

So many sheep, poverty-stricken, tired sheep kept on listening. And some got a clue. Got out. Started studying. There is a reason RELIGION and POLITICS are tied together in this country. NOT GOOD! NOT GOOD AT ALL!

I don't care HOW MUCH "GOOD" these evangelists do! The DAMAGE they have inflicted is FAR WORSE! The MAFIA contributes to charity. HOLLYWOOD contributes to charity. Contributing money to others is NO INDICATOR of GOOD people!

Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I you. ACTS 3:6

That being said, are natural disasters increasing? You have to give that SERIOUS study. But, remember, humans are ALWAYS thinking the world is ending.

(Check out Krakatoa 1883. There were numerous documented reports of groups of human skeletons floating across the Indian Ocean on rafts of volcanic pumice and washing up on the east coast of Africa, up to a year after the eruption. Average global temperatures fell by as much as 1.2 degrees Celsius in the year following the eruption. Weather patterns continued to be chaotic for years and temperatures did not return to normal until 1888.)

I don't have an opinion one way or the other at this point. I'll keep a look out.

Thanks for the warning.

P.S. Thankfully, my faith has not been TOO damaged by all the lies, misinformation, greed and filth that comes out of "Christianity." But I cry for those that it damaged and haunts.

I just wanted to address this part of your post, and point out the mistake that people commonly make. You seem to assert that people have been "perishing" for some time since the scriptures were written and that this would then imply some sort of contradiction as to why God has delayed His coming, however, that all assumes that what God was referencing was "perishing" as you see it, and He most certainly was not. God's perspective and focus is far greater that ours and what God meant by "that none should perish" was not referring to our life as it exists now. God was referring to our eternal life, and what resurrection we would be part of, the first group being raised to everlasting life, and the second group being raised to face judgement and everlasting death. It is that second resurrection that God is talking about when He says, "that none should perish". Sure thousands have died, since that was written, but many have died making the choice for Christ, which means they shall not perish in that 2nd resurrection.

Matthew 8:22, Luke 9:60 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the DEAD BURY THEIR DEAD.

Marvel not that I say unto you...unless you are Reborn in the spirit...you shall not see the kingdom of God.

There are those who are walking that are dead in the spirit...and...there are those who are alive in the spirit though they suffered death in the flesh. IMHO

I must point out though that the spirit/flesh are simply our conscious thought and what governs those thoughts. Dead in the spirit is how every person has been born since Adam and Eve, yet ever since the garden mankind has been able to choose Christ and regain the spiritual side to our being. Now it is a common misconception that when people hear the word spiritual, they think that it references some immortal nonphysical essence, like a ghost, however that is not what scripture is saying when referencing the spiritual life. It is simply saying that our thoughts are not controlled by the flesh anymore, meaning our sinful human nature, but they our now controlled by our spiritual thought process which sets our character inline with that of Christ. A human being cannot and does not exist, absent a physical body. It is why the Bible makes it clear that the "dead know nothing." Resurrection is not the process of reuniting some sort of immortal spirit with a physical body.

In the Christian scheme of things, I would wager that far less have done so than have.

That may be the case, but what is your frame of reference? Are you saying that you believe more Christians have died losing their faith in Christ, or that simply more people have died not believing in Christ than those that have died believing in Him?

The latter as per the theology of some Christians. Here's a short list of all the people supposedly in hell roasting about now:

Ancient Canaanites
Ancient Sumerians
Akkadians
Babylonians
Assyrians
Ancient Egyptians
Hyksos
Hittities
Amalekites
Ancient Africans (includes aforementioned Egyptians)
Mayans
Aztecs
Olmecs
Ancient Celts
Every dead Muslim
Every dead Hindu
Ancient Greeks
Ancient Romans
Parthians
Ancient Persians
Every dead Communist
All those Nazis
Every Pope
