Amen Elmer, even the deceived will have a chance IMO.

I know, I've been guilty of calling mormonism a cult in the past. For that I apologize. Mormonism is NOT a cult, you are very open about your beliefs and it's just another denomination. We would have to call all denominations cults if that were the case. Sorry you're beliefs are called that....it's just not true.

Ilene, thank you very, very much for saying that. It means a lot to me to know that's how you feel. I believe that you are part of a very small minority, though, even among those who have been participating on this thread. The silence of the others has spoken volumes.

When I first came to City-Data, it was to participate on the Utah forum. Maybe it's time I headed back there and left the Christianity forum altogether.

No Katzpur....we want you to stay. I also do not believe Mormonism is a cult and find it has many common denominators to my beliefs....I want to learn more but have been too busy with work to be on here much this week.

Do I have any seconders?

Sure - we are one body in Christ, and our unity is very important.

Hey you ........ we love you, please stay .... and I do not believe you are in a cult either.

If you feel attacked by some on this forum and you feel that it is too stressful feeling the need to defend your beliefs, I would be sad to see you go. You must realise that those christians feel that Mormonism adds revelations (and to tell you the truth - I agree with that - the Joseph Smiths revelations have been made into a denomination) that the bible is the absolute truth and there is no more --- they feel that they need to tell the truth - it explodes when you react, then they react. If you do not respond but just use a to express that you disagree but do not want to debate the issue.

NO!!! Don't do that!! I have really enjoyed learning about mormonism and you have "enlightened" me to the fact that it's not what I thought it was. I told you before that I really didn't know much about it and it was fascinating to me to learn. Now see, if you can change this stubborn old mule's mind then there is hope for everyone else too!!
