What I'm about to say is going to suprise a great many people. They don't realize their scriptures say the following:

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Catch that bolded part? Faith is the ACCESS to Grace. In other words, you need to have Faith in order to receive the Grace. A lot of people will tell you that Grace is favor. But that stops far short of what Grace is. Grace is Approval which obviously includes favor.

Now James says the following:

Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

So we have it that Faith without works is considered dead. We can call that Dead Faith.

So now that we know God's Approval (Grace) is accessed by Faith we can conclude that Grace is not accessed by Dead Faith.

See how this is going?

So here is the equation:

Faith + Works = Grace

So the question all of you that claim to believe in Christ must ask yourself is this:

Can DEAD FAITH save you?

Revelation 20:12-13 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and THEY WERE JUDGED EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.

Peace!

No, it can't. Having faith in Christ means being faithful to Christ. And keeping His commandments is not synonymous with legalism.

'ACCESS to Grace', for what purpose...?

We NEED GRACE to show us our own unbelief!
We NEED GRACE to enable us to 'pray for our enemy'!
We NEED GRACE to sustain us in times of trial and tribulations!
We NEED GRACE to enable us to stop judging others, and let Him judge!
We NEED GRACE to conquer whatever 'besetting sin' controls us!

Then we rejoice in HOPE of the glory of God to fulfill His word....AMEN!

Cool Grace Faith

We who have faith that God will fulfill his promises are guaranteed to receive what they hope for.
Those who do not have faith, or who lose it, are not entitled to receive the things God promises.— James 1:5-8.

The apostle Paul wrote: “Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him.” — Hebrews 11:6,

"This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth." (1 Timothy 2:3, 4)
