Yea, I never understood why people say it's faith alone and works generate no merit. Isn't claiming Jesus as your savior a work? How can somone proclaim Christ as their savior and then continue to sin with no guilt because they're thinking once saved always saved? That just doesn't make sense.

In fact, actions speak louder than words.

Because nothing I work at can ever be good enough. No claiming Jesus as my Savior is not work, it's a free gift that I have chosen to accept by faith and this faith in Him produces the good work. Christians still sin but we are convicted by the Holy Spirit when we do, I have guilt when I sin, but also know when I ask Jesus to forgiven me He does.

Good words, I LOVE NORTH CAROLINA! If believing is a good work on our part, then salvation is not of grace alone and we DO have the right to boast!

But Works means doing things to show your faith. Let me put it this way, did Jesus say he could walk on water and not actually do it? If works don't matter, then why did Jesus perform miracles (which are divine works.) Wouldn't Christ expect us to do the same? Besides, you know in the bible it says NOT by faith alone right? I'm not saying one can work their way into Heaven...I'm simply saying that works is stating that you not only have faith in Christ but you must LIVE your life in serving Him. Serving Him is a work. It will never be enough to redeem ourselves, but Christ expects us to LIVE our life for Him. You have to have faith AND works to live a truly Christian life. By faith alone, would simply state that I believe in Christ, but live my life as though I don't believe in Him.

Being saved does not make one perfect. We all drift and return. Christianity is a process, not an event. You cannot be evil one day and good the next. However you can commit to making
your bet effort to be good from a specified day forward. You will fail. God will forgive you for that failure. Just commit and try. recommit daily, hourly, monthly whatever. It is the commitment to Christ that saves you, not achieving perfection. Sorry, you will never be perfect. In fact, you will not even manage good.

WHY? Faith without works is empty . . . and also REPENTANCE, TRUE repentance means more than just asking for forgiveness from what I read in the bible, it means turning away from your sins.

Although I ask for forgiveness, there are a few sins that I am having trouble turning from . . . on top of that . . . . I feel that although I love the Lord, I can talk the talk . . . . but I find it a little hard to walk the walk.

I feel that I don't serve the Lord as I see other's in church doing . . and my repentance needs to be fine tuned . . . . . What worries me is the scripture . . Many will say Lord Lord but I will not hear them. . . . I don't want that to be me, but I am afraid if I die today, I may not be truly saved.

As far as my husband being saved as a teen . . . can he be saved after all these years of denying God . . . . 1/2 believing . . . . and not walking the walk . . . I am not sure of that . . . but from what I read in the bible, I feel that if you are saved, but then turn your back on God either you have lost salvation or never were truly saved . . .

I fear alot of people who think they are saved may be in for a big suprise, so I want to cover all bases . . . as my goal is to get to heaven.

I may be wrong . . . just saying what I feel and what I am thinking right now . . . . loved reading all your posts, I learn so much from ya'll.

All of you please listen. I know that I have been taught by the spirit of God on this. We all must learn how the interpret scripture and put it line upon line. I do not care what you learned and who you learned it from. God very own teachings and the teachings of his apostles must be learned and exalted above any man claiming to be a man of God. Who has sinned since their conversion to Christ if any? answer...every single one of us. God does not grade sin on a curve. Our God grades sin according to his own conduct. He seeks perfection, this is why he was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself.

He was not racist in his heart and mind like some of us, he didn't masturbate not even once, he would not sit on money like us, so tell me how much do you have in the bank? he did not gossip, oops I forgot, most of you have sin ranked biggest to smallest, hypocrites. Your sin ranking is probably similar to this Murder 1. Porn 2. Getting drunk 3. gambling 4. of course some of you own businesses, real estate, stocks which is not gambling in the eyes of hypocritical man. But anyway, the scripture (which is what I go by) "In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is No forgiveness." Sin is defined as "the breaking of the law", "whatever does not come from faith",and knowing to do good and not doing it. Let's look at what Jesus not your preachers taught. "he who believes in me will live even though he dies; and who ever lives and believes in me will never die."

Now let's explore this the scriptural fact. Everything that Jesus taught is fact. To believe is to become convinced. If I say I believe Jesus forgave my sin but I still say "Lord please forgive me" I am a liar and in unbelief. My action of asking for forgiveness after receiving Christ by faith displays a lack of faith. If I believe the bible is the truth I accept it even when my life is saying something different. example, the scripture says in colossians 2:13 "he forgave us all our sins" what does faith do? what does faith pray? faith would sound something like this Lord I trust in your word, your word says having believed I was marked in you with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Lord I thank you for the gift of eternal life. I'm lost without you, thank you for cleansing me of all unrighteousness and declaring me righteous because of my faith in you my Lord Jesus. Your word says you are the author and the finisher of my faith. You said yourself those who believe have passed from death to life. I rest my faith in you, thank you my Lord Jesus I make all my prayers, praise, and requests in the name of Jesus the Christ my Lord and savior amen.

Unbelief would sound like this:day one Lord forgive me, (do this do that.) Faith prays like the Lord did it and he does need my dead in trespasses and sins help. God promised through the prophet Hosea "I will heal their backslidings(waywardness in some translations) and love them freely for my anger has turned away from them." He was showing us his true love through the story of Hosea and Gomer. Gomer kept cheating on Hosea and he kept on buying her back. Now as believers our Christlike attitude is "though he loves me perfectly my goal is to live in a way that pleases him.' Righteous conduct that stems from fear of salvation lost is not pleasing to God. Righteous conduct that stems from faith in the eternal life and spirit of God is pleasing to God. the word spirit means "breath" or life.

The scripture says by faith God created the heavens and the earth. It also says he created the heavens and the earth by his word. Of Course a true believer will have a lifestyle that is different from his or her past. We must by faith kill the desires of the flesh. the scripture says "live by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Will God leave If I fulfilled a desire of the flesh? no. The word "faith" can be placed anywhere the "spirit" is in scripture and still have the same meaning. It would sound like this: "So I say live by the faith and you will not gratify the desires of the sin nature. For the sinful nature is contrary to the faith and the faith what is contrary to the sin nature." But the fruit of the faith is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithful ness, gentleness, and self control." The word "bear" is translated properly in the Greek and Hebrew meaning "to put up with." This is why Paul said the life I live I live by faith in the son of God. Who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 see verse 21 also. The more faith in Christ I have the more righteous my lifestyle will be. Please understand that everyone that thinks they are saved or says they are saved are not saved. Read Romans 10:1-4.

Once saved always saved yep, Christ could only be crucified once so you can be saved once. One spirit saves one time, permanently forgives, continually corrects, is perfectly patient, covers the sins of those who believe in him, intercedes to the father, writes the names of us who believe in the book of life and will not erase,(see revelation 3:5's example of this.) That is all I will say for now. Be sure to go to our website faithandprophecy.com in about 1 week it is under construction. Let's believe in Christ the biblical way let's exalt him high above hypocritical man.

Just a thought on this. I've not researched it and don't know the context off hand so take it only as a thought...

Would someone say that a given country has fallen away? Some say America has fallen away or Europe has fallen away. Could this be true on a general level, but not on an individual level? For example, the parents believe, but their children do not believe. The parent generation passes away and the country falls away.
