Take comfort if you're one of the chosen, you mean. What comfort would you suggest the damned take? Let's say God chose you and damned your four-year-old. How comforting would you find that, Wanda?

That's what un-truths do.
Cause messes.

Truth isn't hypocritical and it doesn't contradict itself.

Now I can believe that man has some liberty in his brief life to choose a job, a wife, a place to live, what kind of pizza to order, etc.
But the idea that "God gave man free will, and whosoever will may come to Jesus before it's too late" is just ridiculous IMO, and here's why:

1) people die at all ages. If we all had the "same opportunity," we should all live at least the same amount of time, right? Equal time for all, right?
And yet some die minutes into life, others past 100 years... How can anyone say that both these cases had the "same opportunity??"
2) Different physical abilities. There are brilliant people, and there are people who are mentally handicapped. What if you're the latter??? What if you never hear the message of Christ in this life (like so many people in history..)?
3) All the people born before Christ are supposed to have a "chance to choose Him when they are resurrected?" Are you kidding? Who WOULDN'T choose Him when He resurrects you and you see Him face to face??? Having to "choose" in this life is NOT the same as being able to "choose" in the next!!

Now if someone says that "a baby gets in free" then children who die are just lucky, contrary to popular opinion. Same for those who are handicapped, etc.

Am I the only one who sees this contradiction?

Blessings to all,
brian
No contradictions. God is the righteous judge and he will judge all based on what resources they have in this earth whether great or small.

People will not have a choice to accept him after the resurection of the dead. There will be a chance to reject him after his millenial reign when Satan is loosed for a time though.

God chooses those He will save. I take great comfort in the fact that God is in control of ALL things. If he chose before the world was made to not choose my son (he is 18 now..) into the eternal kingdom then so be it. There is not one thing I could do to change it and there is not one thing my son could do to earn it.

Blessings, w

Amen...and here is the last sentence of my original post: "Better to understand, embrace, and take comfort in God's sovereignty and His gift of grace which He gives to whom He wills."

God is the truth and His word doesn't contradict nor is it hypocritical. Blessings, w

lucky for you and your son, and the whole universe i suppose, that God is not what you beleive Him to be-

question:how does God CHOOSE these chosen ones -does he randomly pick them out of a hat,or does He pick daffodille heads with peoples names on each pettle-i choose you-i choose you not-i choose you-i choose you not etc-etc.
