Everyone says the scriptures are clear and many say this to each other with opposing view points, it is quibble.
The scriptures are not clear that is why people spend hours and days and years studying them.
God is love and there is not one attribute He has nor is there anything He does that is separate from his Love.
That's right Phaze......God IS love therefore anything He does stems from that love. Correction is love. And the scriptures are DEFINITELY not clear....if they were none of us would be here "quibbling".
The point here is that you are not a child of God until you are saved...
Of course you are. You were born a child of God. Some may wander, but that doesn't change the essential relationship. When a teenager gets mad at his parent, tells him he hates him and moves out, he may think the parent-child relationship no longer exists. He may want it to no longer exist. But that's not how it is from the parent's perspective. From the parent's perspective, that rebellious kid is just a lost child and is welcome to become a part of the family again at any time. It's not really all that different with respect to our relationship to our Father in Heaven.
The point here is that you are not a child of God until you are saved...
Paul speaking with the Stoics(a pagan philosophical sect) ...
Act 17:28-29
for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ “Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.
We are all the children of God, even pagans and all other unbelievers ...
Did Christ say that of Himself or did someone else say it?...
Christ said it. John 3:17 (which I like even better than 3:16!)
Again, how many people in human history were made sinners? How many of us are children of Adam?
"For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." How many of us were His enemies?
"Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. "
As in one, so in the other. Christ is the LAST Adam, just as the first Adam was also a son of God.
We mustn't be high-minded or proud, but humble ourselves, because it is HE who has saved us, not ourselves! We are only messengers of the reconcilation which He has brought to man. Peace on earth, good will toward man.
Blessings to you,
Brian
