I like the way this car looks. The styling is in a different direction. The previous style was getting a little long in the tooth.
I wonder how comfortable the seats are. Just from looking at the photos the white seats look more comfortable than the black sport seats; I'm not a big fan of that much side bolstering.
That pass-through under the center stack and the drive selector knob really opens the cockpit up. With many new cars the massive center stack makes the cockpit seem too claustrophobic.
I can't wait to see what they have in store for the 300.
Is this 2.4L Tiger Shark engine better than Chrysler's 2.4L World Engine? My wife has the world engine and it is buzzy, slow, and poor fuel economy compared to it's competitors.
The "Tigershark" engine family is basically Chrysler Word Engine Version 2.0. They are integerating some FIAT improvements like the Multiair system into the engines. The basic engine design is still the same the GEMA Hyundai effort that they have been using. The new designs will be better, but I still don't think they will be as competitive as other I4 engine families. The shortcomings will be made up for with the 9-speed autos though.

I think the AWD going into a $21k car is really awesome. But a convertible option would really put the icing on the cake.
They had no choice but to drop the convertible. The CUSW platform which is based on the Fiat C/D-Evo platform was never designed as a convertible. Others speculated, but yes, this is basically the same platform that the Dart rides on. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee also uses it. If rumors are to believed, virtually EVERY vehicle in Chrsylers lineup that isn't RWD or a truck will use the same CUSW platform.
The 2015 Chrysler 200 rides on the Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee's CUSW platform. Will have same drive train as the new Cherokee, 9 speed automatic and 295HP 3.6L Pentastar or 2.4l Tiger Shark 184HP.
Cherokee has a smaller version of the Pentastar, 3.2L that makes 271hp. Kinda funny that the sedan will have a bigger engine in a smaller vehicle.
I think it is a nice looking car but I think most buyers are only going to take a look at it if it is a screaming bargain. Not sure many people would think it is a bargain at 30K.

These days it's not difficult at all to option a car in this market segment (Camry, Accord, Fusion, etc.) well over 30K even on a 4-cylinder model.

But we are talking about a Chrysler.
