Because up until now, the Jeep brand is as 'Murcan as it gets. And if the Renegade becomes a success for Jeep, I'm sure 'Murcan Jeep lovers will be torn.

I like it. It's probably more capable than a stock YJ or TJ. Those things came with like 27" tires, no recovery points, weak axles, etc...

I'm with you--the Renegade won't need to impress "Jeep owners" because the buyers will typically be new to the brand. Renegade and Trax are on my list, but I love the detachable roof panels on the Renegade. Not everybody goes offroad, and a lot of people want good fuel economy.

Renegade was a goddamn stripe package on the CJ. If you want that vehicle, THEY STILL MAKE IT!

This Renegade is a small 4x4 for more practical, year round duty. And it costs less than a Wrangler.

i find it interesting that the response here has been focused on the concern for the jeep brand. the jeep brand isnt really of any importance to me. i also dont know much about a fiat. but i know that im interested in an "suv" thats around 166 inches in length with awd. i dont particularly care who makes it, ill buy the best one when im ready for my next car.
