The new Challenger is probably the nicest looking car they've came out with since the 1970's....but one thing they should have done was give the rear roof line just a little bit more slope....so it would be like it's 1970 counterpart.
Other Mopars I'd like to own would be a 1968-70 Charger, or a 70 Cuda or a 68-69 Dart. I also like the 71-74 Charger and the 1970-76 Duster and Demon. Which I just learned to day was later renamed a Dart Sport but used the same body....never could understand why Darts in the 70's looked both like Dusters and Valiants.
Now if you want to talk torque, you have to hand that one to the 1970 455 stage I that was found in the 1970 GSX....510 ft lbs of tire shredding torque at an incredibly low 2800 rpm....no Mopar or Ford or other GM car touched it in it's day.

LOL I canjust imagine all that torque going through those skinny bias-ply tires of the day

Yeah me neither.....I'm sure the tire company kept in good business there during the muscle car years. But then again with that torque you could run a taller gear for highway cruising and still be able to whoop up on people. All when overdrive trannies were unheard of on muscle cars.

They weren't muscle cars, but the Cadillacs of that era could match and even exceed the Buick in the torque department...
Challenger styling beats the Camaro hands down? When you get those $ together, first thing you should buy is a new pair of glasses.
It's a matter of personal opinion no need to get your panties in a knot. In my opinion, which I am entitled to, the new Camaro looks ugly. The more I see the uglier it gets. Horrific to be quite honest. Sure it may be fast and expensive but it don't change my opinion that's it's still a very poor attempt to bring back the Camaro.
See ya at Pearl vision pal.
Yes it does, maybe you need glasses? The Camaro looks like an oversized hotwheels car.
That's what it is! I had trouble pin-pointing exactly why I find the Camaro ugly, but I think your on to something
The tiny side windows/low roof don't help either. The pointy front end is just gross, and those Corvette wanna-be tail lights look nothing like the old Camaro's. I looked at one last nigh in person and it was even worse than the pictures. Once the initial hype wears off I think more people will see how tacky Chevrolet's new "Dream Machine" really is...more like Nightmare Machine
Camaro died in 1981, before that hell yes I would drive one, after that, nothing impressive in the styling dept. Performance is another issue, they perforn great, still don't mask that confused styling.
I wonder if dodge will make a the challenger SRT-10 it would be an interesting ride
