like the fury they had on display at the nypd museum, except that one was all black. i would assume it is still on display in the museum and if you googled something like 1972 plymouth fury police cruiser at nypd museum it might pop up. i was there in 2001

I was thinking that it was perhaps the same one.
Doing a little more research this evening. Remember how we were discussing how the early 70s Mopars in general appear "cheaper" in interior styling than their GM/Ford competition? Well I noticed that in the 1972 Plymouth wagon sales brochure that there was a very luxurious "Brougham" interior option available on the Fury Sport Suburban wagon, which I think at least matched up in luxury appearance with the most luxurious interior that was available in the Caprice Kingswood Estate and LTD Country Squire wagons that year... at least where seating material was concerned. There was a rare brocade cloth interior available on the Caprice wagon in 1972, but again, it was rare and I personally have never seen one before with the option. Most had the standard interior, which was almost identical in appearance to the Impala wagon that year.... I think the only difference was the addition of more chrome inserts. I think Ford offered a Brougham interior option on the Country Squire wagon, which offered quite a luxurious interior, even on the door panels, and even moreso for 1973.
Here are the seats that were in the 1972 Plymouth Fury wagons... that black seat was the one with the optional Brougham package. I hope they dont mind me posting this from their site....

the police cruiser in the nypd museum has those hubs. they really drag down the image of these cars
all these boats need is some decent custom hubs--not the sporty mag ones(yeech!!) but the conservative ones that emphasize the car's qualities--modish, big and unpretentious
Yeah, I noticed those too. The wagon on "The Brady Bunch" that looked like that one had the optional deluxe full-hubcaps with the holes on the outer perimeter.

Oh, I found shots from the 1972 Chevy wagon brochure and thought I would post some photos in comparison to the 1972 Plymouth wagon. As shown in the post (a few up), it shows the interiors on the '72 Plymouth wagons and I was talking about the luxury interior "Brougham" option on the '72 Sport Suburban. Quite a luxurious seat.
Here was the optional interior on the '72 Caprice Estate... it was a brocade cloth interior, much like that of the Caprice sedan/coupe that year, but not quite as luxurious, as they had more inserts. I have never seen another '72 Caprice wagon with this optional interior.

Monaco interior. I think the wheel(which i don't recognize) is new and looks more like a Buick/GM wheel than a Chrysler wheel(the Chrysler Corp luxury wheel in 73 was a 2 spoke not what they showin the pic)
the 72 Fury wagon luxury seat is much nicer than the other 3 though i wouldn't mind the tower seat with the center armrest, which is what many of the wagons and Gran Sedans had. the other 2 bench seats with the headrests are too tacky for my tastes. they look tacky in a brochure, imagine how they looked when the car was older. i was in a 73 Fury III in 1979 that had a bench seat with headrests--the entire car was falling apart, back seat was coming out, headliner torn, plastic wood was rubbed out, yeech!! and then there were those who took care of their Furies at that age so that the cars looked like new

Yeah, that Monaco wagon wheel looks alot like the early 70s Buick wheel, but I do see that "horn ring" around it, which was a Mopar trademark. GM did not have that on the Buick wheels, so maybe it was a new for '73 wheel?

My favorite is that black seat that comes with the "Brougham" package. I also like the styling of the material on the standard Sport Fury wagon which is shown as high-bucket (or tower) seats as you mentioned, but I dont like the high-backs of the seats. I think a low-back seat with that material was also available, which I would prefer. GM never offered a high-back seat on the wagons and Ford didnt until have until 1973 as an option on the Country Squire.
