Oh, I never noticed, but your right. That rear end of the 74 New Yorker does
resemble that of the '74 Impala/Electra. I think the taillights look like Impala style, but the styling in general looks like the Electra.
Yeah, that red LTD interior is nice. That is the top of the line LTD Brougham. That appears to be the 2dr model. With optional power locks/windows, that would have given the interior an even more luxury appeal. That yellow 4dr LTD Brougham above it has a red interior too... notice it has a sunroof too! I bet that was a rare option. One thing thats rare and alot of people dont know is that the Country Squire wagon also had a "Brougham" interior option which added more luxurious door panels that look more like the Brougham sedans door panels and nicer seats... that was an option that was available on the Squire wagons until its demise in 1991.
Still, I like the '73 LTD Brougham interior as well. The 1973 was slightly redesigned, with a totally new instrument panel, but I think I like the door panel on the '72 better, but the '73 looks more luxurious I think.... here is a '73 LTD Brougham in green... remember, this is the same car was was discussing as one of the better years for the rear ends of the LTDs, as the 1975-78 models had those vertical taillights. I think the green LTD Brougham 4dr sedan pictured below looks tacky with the standard hubcaps.... I like the optional deluxe hubcaps on the Broughams. Notice that the LTD (non-Brougham model) pictured below that has the optional deluxe hubcaps (and power windows on the interior photo).... its also the pillarless hardtop sedan, whereas the Brougham shown is a 4dr sedan. The 73-74 Brougham had wider rocker panel trim on the outside, upscale interior, Brougham scripts on the "C" pillars. Optional cornering lights was a nice touch... something Caprice or Gran Fury did not offer those years. Since I dislike high-back seats, I would have bought a loaded LTD rather than a LTD Brougham. If only the Brougham had of had those seats in low-back form, but I think they were high-back only.
