I know I will get criticized for this response, but it is something I have wondered for a while. I recently read an article that discussed the implications of a merger of Dayton and Cincinnati. One benefit is that it could turn Cincy into the hub of the region (SW Ohio, N and C Ky and In). Do you think long term whether there will a move to merge Cincy/Dayton (assuming that occurs) and have it swallow up a smaller city center (possibly Lexington) into one enormous metroplex with Cincinnati as the center of it. I know b/w outskits of Greater Cincinnati (Walton) and Georgetown (beginning of Lex) is about 40 miles. This is about the same or a little more than distance b/w 275 and Southern Dayton. Cincinnati could then really move up in market size. It could almost become like Atlanta has done to TN/AL/GA as the major regional city b/w Cincy and Orlando. Cincinnati could be the major population center in OH/KY/IN.

1. There is nothing positive about urban sprawl.
2. These northern suburbs trying to lure in-region companies are f**king morons.
3. A metro with a larger population = more fed. $$$
4. This region definitely needs to concentrate on establishing a uni-gov system. Enough of the mooching.
