I think the movie theatre we used to go to was "The Paramount"; I dont know where it was. we were told that one of the stars had been an usher there, not greg peck and not rock hudson but one of the leading men....?

They still sometimes had live shows along with the movie....vaudevillian magicians and contortionists.

There was a Paramount on East McMillan.

I, too, remember something about a star who had been an usher but likewise I can't remember who it was.

The barber shop was Frank's Barber Shop. Jim cut my hair too. Last I heard he had a stroke and is son Lucky took over the barber business. Frank won a bunch of money in the Ohio lottery and quit the barbershop. The other barber was Howard.

Yep he was born in Cincinnati and went to california for awhile and then returned to Cincy where he went to school. It didnt mention being an usher at the paramount....but I am sure you are correct.

Frank, then Jim, cut my hair for years. Jim moved shop to Calley Shopping Center. Gave my son his first hair cut.

was this the barber shop on reading rd in Bond Hill? If it was, John cut my hair. Sometimes he would even come over to our house and cut the whole family's hair--except my mother, of course.
