Now, there was a barber shop on the N side of California in that little strip next to White castles. I dont remember if Frank was there, then moved across the street to RR.
There was also Seidner's Kosher Butcher shop and a bakery in that strip (On California)
We would stop at the bakery and get hot doughnuts on the way to school.
There was a dentist office across California on S side of street.
I don't remember what was on the SW corner of Reading and California.
I do remember when Dad was "teaching" me to drive we were turning left on RR from California. I still had trouble with the clutch on a stick shift and stalled in the middle of RR. Dad started yelling so I just got out and walked home, leaving him in the passenger seat.
