Default Moving to Cinci Summer 07 - Looking for urban setting

Can I get some ideas on where the artsy areas of Cinci are? I'm looking for the up and coming areas with homes that are resonably priced. Mt. Adams is very nice but also very expensive.

Any thoughts on Mulberry st. at Vine Street? There appears to be a lot of rehabbed townhomes in this area. Is it an up and coming neighborhood?

Any other areas that come to mind that dont fit the traditional suburban cookie cutter subdivisions.

Thanks for the advise!

MJ

Northside is very eclectic. Its got a very "hippy" feel, but still has some nice single family housing stock. A lot of old houses. There are some areas that are still less safe, and if you're willing to take a chance and get into those areas, you can get in very reasonably (fixing up a place). For the nicer streets that have already turned the corner, you're looking at $150+ depending on the size of the house. A pretty good value though. The "downtown" of Northside has lots of restaurants, a library branch, barber shop, little boutiques, etc.. And just about every commercial site is filled (not boarded up and abandoned as in College Hill or some other areas)..

Also, the largest number of "Peace not War" signs I've seen in Cincinnati!

Good Luck!

I will second Briolat21 on Northside, for most affordable artsy community, If you have a bit more money, O'Brianville or Columbia-tusculum just 10 minutes from Downtown Cincinnati, both very diverse, Columbia-tusculum is right next to the river with many restored victorians.
