Hi guys, I was wondering if you guys have a mosquito problem in Cincy? I noticed it's location on the map and it's not that far from other places I have visited where mosquitoes were bad at night in the summer. Thanks.

A problem? Hmmm.
I did get three bites last night in about 10 mins. If they like you, they will find you in Cincinnati.

In my experience, I would have to say no because I have lived in both Chicago and several cities in Michigan and I never saw a mosquito. Thanks.

I live in Chicagoland and have been bitten dozens of times last week. Over the weekend, I sprayed around the property.

This is going to be one of the worst mosquito years in recent memory. There has been a lot of rain, a lot of standing water and the like.

A 'bad ' year for mosquitoes just means an exciting year of entertainment at my house. Nothing better than sitting on the deck with friends, dogs running in the yard,a belly full of charcoal grilled steak, enjoying some irish coffee and a cigar, Reds game on the radio, watching mosquitoes detonate themselves on the bug zapper.

Mosquitoes have a small range of flight. If you don't have standing water nearby for breeding, they will not come to visit. Empty out garbage can lids, buckets, etc.

I have found that a can of outdoor bug fogger, sprayed simultaneously into the airflow of a backpack leaf blower can reduce the bug population just fine. Of course, that means no fireflies.

More to the point, places with lots of farm ponds have lots of mosquitoes. End of story.
