Default Where to live in Cincy-job in erlanger

Dh may be getting a job in Erlanger, KY, but we would like to live in OHIO. We currently live in the Toledo area. What suburbs would be good to live in? We are worried about the commute, but want EXCELLENT schools since we will be leaving behind an excellent school. Looking for a neighborhood with families and newer homes priced around $250,000. Any suggestions would be great!

Default Anderson Township

My suggestion would be Anderson Township, which is located in southeastern Hamilton County. The commute to Erlanger would only be 15-20 minutes via I-275, the section of which you would take from Anderson to Erlanger or vice versa normally doesn't have much gridlock. If you would want to live north of downtown Cincy along I-75 or I-71, you'd have to live at least 15-20 miles north of downtown to live in the type of suburbs that you're interested in. IMO, that would not be wise, as the commute to Erlanger would be atrocious -- 25-30 miles with a LOT of gridlock.

Here are some links for Anderson Township:

Just curious as to why you would want to live in Ohio when your job location would be in Erlanger? There are good schools in Northern Kentucky as well, public and private.

you should consider living in NKY... if you are wary of cultural differences between KY and your native Toldedo, you will find the same things in Cincy on the Ohio side, so you might as well check out some of the great neighborhoods in NKY and avoid the commute. Check out Taylor Mill, Florence and Villa Hills

Mariemont is a beautiful town and has great schools, but it's expensive. $250,000 would probably get you an 80-year-old, story-and-a-half Cape Cod.

If you want to stay in Ohio, I'd also suggest Anderson Township in Hamilton County, where you could get a newer 4-bedroom colonial for about that price. Or you could look on the west side, like Delhi or Greene townships. Don't know much about those school districts, though.
