I have been living and working in Greater Cincinnati since January and I am currently exploring apartment complexes within reasonably close proximity to Milford (Exit 59 - I-275).

My choices have been narrowed down to the following:

1) Eastgate Area (LakePointe Apartments) off Route 32 (Exit 63).

2) Two apartment complexes off Route 125 (Exit 65 - Beechmont Avenue) just east of I-275 (heading toward Amelia).

Which of these two areas would you recommend (I realize no area is perfect) for a professional man (in his late 20s). Is one area more trashy or crime-prone than the other? Based on casual observations, I would venture that the Eastgate area might be more crime-prone and/or of lower socioeconomic demographics.

I would like to hear what long-time area residents think, since you all will have a better idea than I currently do. Safety is my primary concern when choosing between apartment complexes.

What is wrong with Milford? There are plenty of nice apartments there.

Yes, there are many apts in Milford, however I have not found any which include a washer/dryer in the unit itself. That is why I am looking at other complexes.

What do you consider "lower socioeconomic demographics"?

I don't know if Lake Pointe has had any problems with crime, but neighboring Eastgate Woods has had plenty. Same management company. Maybe things have cleaned up.

But I wouldn't venture anything unless I knew which other two complexes you were looking at off Ohio Pike, and precisely where they were.

I am looking at Brandychase Apts, Arbors of Anderson, and Vinings, if you happen to know anything about these complexes.

Isn't there a nicely upscale complex along Wooster Pike about 2 miles west of Milford?

Someone I know lived in LakePointe for a while, that and Eastgate woods have quite a bit of domestic stuff and drug action from time to time. Also it's not easy to get there until the construction in Eastgate is complete (a couple more years).

Look on the review sites, there are lots better apts iin the areas than these.

My suggestion is as follows: Anywhere but the two areas you are looking at. You're going to get lots of rednecks, drug use, and fast food restaurants if you choose either of these two areas.
