Hi everyone, as you know I have been posting about the Covington/Newport/Dayton area on this forum, and I just got back from visiting the area and I really like it. There is something about the laid back feeling, and the older houses that I really enjoyed.

While I was there, I received an opportunity to make a lateral transfer thru my employment in Cincinnati! I had the possible Highland Heights, and Florence KY on my list but at this time I wouldn't be able to get in, so after all the research in the Nky area, I am now going to research the Cincy area, but I only have a week to take the job, or turn it down. It would get my foot in the door in the area but I know NOTHING of the area. It is in the area of Harrison Rd. in the western hills section.

I guess I would need any info anyone has on the area. I got the short opportunity to visit but since my vacation was ending I had to get back home. I spent the bulk in the Nky region.......!

I will be researching until I figure something out. I would need housing/rental info and things to do info........and if the area is good/bad/indifferent. I like to bike/walk, and I like parks and the water. I know it isn't that close to the riverfront, which I wanted to be but it would get me closer to it. Also, what about issues with snowplows and the sort, do they plow like they are supposed to? and do you have to constantly move your car?

HELP!!!!!!!

There is a lot of information on other relo requests, but what kind of neighborhood are you looking for? I generally suggest Clifton gaslight, Hyde Park, Oakley, or Mt. Lookout for city neighborhoods. Those areas are also close to places such as Lunken airport, which has a 5-6 mile bike/running path looping it. I do not know much about the west side so maybe someone else can assist.

Snow removal is not great - it seems like we only have one or two decent snow storms a year, but you would think we never got them by the reaction. For a northern city, we do not handle it well, and many people here from Cleveland and Detroit laugh at the reaction. Hopefully the trend of little snow fall will continue.

No, I don't know about your previous post.

IF you moved here where would your place of work be? That could/would make a difference as to where I could point you for living.
