My family and I just returned from a long weekend trip to Cincinnati. This is our second trip to your fair city since my in-laws were moved there for work a few years ago.

This time, we took our kids (all aged between 6 and 12) to the Newport Aquarium and the Cincinnati Museum Center. We also took our oldest son (and baseball fanatic) to Sunday night's Reds game.

We thoroughly enjoyed the aquarium and were really impressed with the way is was laid out. The crowd was pretty evenly dispersed so it never felt crowded. The exhibits were beautifully done. I can honestly say that it is one of the best aquariums we've visited.

The Museum Center was also a treat with something for everyone. We did the Pompeii exhibit (awesome) and visited all the various museums. All the kids really enjoyed the Children's Museum's play areas. The History Museum was fascinating for the grown-ups and older children - especially the huge models of the city.

The Reds game was also a blast as we were surrounded by great, fun, and friendly fans. Just the right amount of rowdy. Before the game, Grandma took everybody out for a very tasty scoop of Graeter's Ice Cream.

All-in-all we had a great, albeit exhausting, time.

Looking forward to seeing y'all again soon!

I was just like you. Had a great time, but was exhausted as soon as I got home. Graeter's was some really good ice cream, second only to that of Handel's in the Youngstown area. Did you go to the one on Fountain Square, or are there others? Wish I could do more exploring because I didn't see half of what I wanted to in Cincy, but will be headed down again soon.

We live in Western North Carolina about halfway between Asheville and Boone. I should add that the drive was lovely, too. The rock slide on the TN/KY state line gave us an excellent opportunity to come through the Cumberland Gap area. I think we'll adopt that as our new route.

We were staying in Mt Healthy with family and we went to a Graeter's in their area. They have locations all over the area, I think.

Cincinnati definitely seems to have lot's to do and something for everyone. I also recommend the zoo which we visited a couple years ago.
