Default country living without a huge commute

My husband and I, emptynesters, am looking for a community on the the North side of Cincy that would let us have a wooded large yard for our dogs and country living without too bad of a commute in to the city. Perhaps a village with it's own small downtown and shops. We would like to get a 3 bedroom, 3 bath for arount 350k. Is there such a place?

Lots of places!

I think Waynesville, Lebanon or perhaps Oxford would really suit you well. All three are really nice places, with the ability to feel like you live in the country, yet still be within about 1 hour of downtown Cincinnati. Would that be close enough? Anything too much closer, and you're really going to be getting into the suburbs, where you won't have a small village that affords you much of a country feel.

I truly think either of those communities would work well for you. If you'd like more information about them, please feel free to ask. Or send me a private DM. I've extremely familiar with Oxford and can tell you a lot about it. I've also been through Waynesville and Lebanon numerous times.

Any one of those communities would allow you to have the size home you want (and accompanying lot), for the amount of money you wish to spend. Although Oxford is a bit more expensive, you can still find a quality home that would meet your specifications. The ambiance of the town, particularly in the fall, more than makes up for the higher price of homes. My brother lives there in a really nice, unique 3 BR, 2 full bath home with an enclosed porch, 2-car garage and a large lot with several large trees and his home is worth a little more than $200K. So to find something in your price range would be no problem.
