Well, I don't know about north of Liberty, but they are going hard in the paint north of Washington park, from Walnut to Elm. It's the most concerted effort I have seen to date. Race, Republic, and to a lesser extent Elm are really under heavy development.

They've just come into ownership of the big red building at the NW corner of Walnut & 13th.

...a key property. This is the one with the pointy roof on the corner, right?

Since we are on the topic of OTR properties, can anyone tell me what they are going to build at 1507 Elm (the old Samuel Bell Home for the Sightless) ??

I noticed they demolished it in the last couple weeks.

The auditor website shows that it is owned by OTR Holdings Inc. (3CDC). I didn't find a lot about it but here is an article from 2010:

With Elm purchase, Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. blocks controversial plan - Business Courier

3CDC does not specifically mention that address on their website as an active project.

Thanks for the research! I would have to say that 3CDC put a final nail in the coffin for that location going to another social services program by razing the entire structure!

And what a horrible location for a prison re-entry program. Thank God 3CDC took a successful stand.

Maybe 3CDC should donate some of its money to the "oversaturated" social service agencies so they provide permanent solutions instead of band-aids, and help more people.

Or maybe 3CDC could hire some of the people in the neighborhood who need jobs.

Oh, wait ... All of "those people" are going to be shoved out of the neighborhood.

Now ... I agree that a re-entry program has no business being a few blocks from a K-12 school. But did 3CDC have alternative suggestions, or is it just being an obstructionist NIMBY?

3CDC is a non-profit. Maybe some of the social service agencies should donate to them for improving the surrounding neighborhoods.

When are you moving to Cincy and where are you planning to live?
I bought a small home in Covington about a mile or so from downtown Cincy. I have to do a little work to it before I can live in it. Needs a kitchen and then some yard work and then a few minor things such as new locks, and perhaps a couple of storm doors for the outside. May add a few more electrical outlets too. Barring a problem I should be able to move in before this year is out.
