Can anyone tell me what the commute time / traffic is like from Cincinnati to Dayton during rush hour?

Specifically, I'm trying to get an understanding of how bad the traffic is going to be in the morning going north on 75 from Cincinnati and on 275 between the 71/275 crossing and the 75/275 crossing. Any help/advice is much appreciated!

anywhere from I-275 to I 675 should be about 20-25 mins as the highway has been recently been widened to 8 lanes. Now the sections leading to those points an be a crap shot. Across the top of I-275 has not been as bad as it used too because that has been recently been upgraded as well. Thursdays and Fridays are the worst times. The entire trip depending on where you start should take about 40 mins An hour if I-275 is bad.

I-75 North out of Cinci boggs down at a couple of places (if my memory serves) -- especially at the Norwood Lateral , and then again around exit 15 (the GE plant). Possibly an additional slow down at the I-275 interchange, but in general the highway opens up after you make it past GE.

I-275 btw 75 and 71 is only a few miles, and even at the worst of rush hour shouldn't take 15 minutes... (unless its not rush hour, but an accident and lanes of traffic are closed - that's a different issue).

Where exactly are you trying to get to.. I can't picture coming North out of Cincy on I-75, and then cutting over to I-71 .. because I-71 doesn't go to Dayton.

Taking I-71 North out of Cincy, and then cutting over on I-275 to I-75 makes more sense... but only if you're along I-71 in Cincy to begin with..

I agree (in general) with UnusualFire above... I-275 to I-675 should generally be a breeze (a few minor congestion points above I-275 at Union Center and Tylersville).

Good luck on your commute!
